I would agree with Chikky. A covering letter is generally not needed for straight forward Tier-1 applications.

It won’t have any affect on existing ILRs. You can carry your current passport for the rest of your life (even after it expires, your can carry it with the new passports).

It would only apply people applying for ILR on or after 29th Feb 2012.

I think it should be allowed (as long as the total is less than 180)

I would suggest two things:

1. Get your basic Scotland disclosure any way.
2. For your peace of mind, get your credit reports from both Experian and Equifax. These are the two main credit reference agencies in UK.

The home office takes absences over 180 days very seriously and it gives them the excuse to refuse applications.

I would suggest your husband should convince his employer to give him the letter; otherwise your application could be in trouble.

If the holidays above 180 are not business related then the home office can be very strict and it will give them an excuse to refuse your application. Under what category you are applying ? Also you need to take expert advice about going to same day service or sending application by post as your cas...

I don’t think so disclosure Scotland 'basic' check will show any CCJ. I got mine few days ago and it only shows ‘Convictions’ and ‘Cautions’.

You can look in your credit report for any CCJ.

I would also suggest getting SAR from Home Office. Almost every 10 year ILR applicant has got SAR on this forum as it helps you in working out on what dates you were granted visas.

So you can match it with your records and can take care of any mismatch in advance.

I don’t think so it would be a problem. You could be earning 28k in 2009 and 35 or even more than 35k in 2012. I think this is a good thing. If you were getting less salary than in 2009, then you could be in trouble (if it was below your new Tier-2 threshold).

Assuming you are on Tier-1 then you only need to give the contact details of the company(s) you have worked for in last 12 out of 15 months. Or in other words only the company for which you are claiming salary points for (it could be less than 12 months if you have earned enough to claim points).

They are not mandatory and not needed for HSMP or Tier-1. But the time you were on work permit/Tier-2, it would be nice to have P60s with you to cover that time.

For missing P60, you can get your employment history from HMRC. But apply for it in advance as it could take couple of weeks to arrive.

Your daughter will be eligible to get citizenship without applying for ILR first. You can save money and can register your daughter as a British Citizen once you get your ILR. However you need to add your wife in your application. ILR for your daughter is optional and you if you have no plan to trav...

Official Book is good and cover almost everything but practice questions are always a good way to familiarize with the test.

I used the idiot-phone app and http://www.hiren.info which made my preparation very solid and got the full score.

I wouldn’t recommend relying on book alone.

You first need to get a 2 years spouse visa and once you have completed 2 years in UK, you can apply for ILR (provided you have passed LiUK test).
