[Urgent hellp] Online application for Dependents

Hi, Has anyone used the online application? It seems pretty straight forward to fill. Questions: 1) Can I use my credit card to pay online? 2) I assume you have to mail documents after you make the payments. How much time do you have to get the docs ready and mail? 3) Can you travel between the time...

Inviting Parents to UK

Hi, I am expecting my parents to visit us in UK (I am on Tier 1 General) from India. I am looking for suggestions on the following: 1) Options to buy travel insurance from? 2) I heard from couple people that they may need medical certificate. However, I have not seen that in any official documents. ...

any more insights into this? Seems scary. We pay so much in fees, and additional fees for PEO appointment. Hope that they keep the process straight forward.

application question

I just booked my PEO appointment, and paid the fees online. (woops, didn't realize that now you have to pay the full fee at the time of booking the appointment!!). Now, how do I fill the first section in the form, that pertains to the fee?

Re: Tier 1 (General) Renewal or ILR

Unfortunately, if you've had one single break of more than 180 days, you cannot break it based on your application date. i.e. any single break of 180 days or more, resets the continuous period. If you had more than 180 days in any one calendar year, and it was made up of multiple smaller breaks of l...

Re: Urgent: Tier 1 Extension 2015 Query

Hi, Since you have one long absence of more than 180 days, your continuous period is reset. For continuous period, you have to meet two things: 1) No single absence of 180 days or more 2) No more than 180 days absence during each of 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 years before application. If your absence was made...

Re: Tier 1 General - 3rd Extension?

What I mean by higher threshold is the threshold for other things -- e.g. a driving offense etc. I hope that nothing untoward happens. However, extra time gives you buffer and chances to get any such thing become "spent"!

Re: Tier 1 General - 3rd Extension?

I don't think it is dumb at all. Do a give (a couple grand in fees) versus get (peace of mind) analysis. If you can afford it without impacting your life significantly, you should do it. Remember 28 days buffer earlier was ok, since you had a chance to always renew it, if ILR was not available. (i.e...

Re: Has anyone got more than 3 years of extension?

It seems their intent was to give 3 or more. However, based on the language, it doesn't look like anyone is going to get more than 3 years.I have asked the same question a couple of times. The language in the form / guidance is confusing. The only hope is some changes in future. I hope UKBA clarifie...

Re: Tier 1 General April Extn 2015 Rule + 3 months extention

Ade76 / Ram80: I believe you can only split if this is made up of multiple visits. If all 283 days were in a single visit, the continuous period is reset. i.e. any single absence of more than 180 days resets the period.
