PBS dependent qualifying period calculation

Hello, Has anyone successfully applied for ILR for PBS dependent after Jan 11, where 5-year period is calculated from the time of original Entry Clearance (as per new rules), and not from the time of entry in UK? In our case, my partner's original entry clearance was in April 2013, but entry in UK w...

Re: PBS dependent qualifying period calculation

Hi All, A few questions about PBS dependents: a) Does the new calculation of absence also effect children under the age of 18? b) Immigration Rules , 319E-d-ii-d-2 specifies that any absence from the UK during periods of leave granted under the Rules in place before 11 January 2018 shall not count t...

Re: Big changes to continuous residence rule for ILR applicants under PBS

To ensure that this requirement does not have retrospective effect, only absences from the UK during periods of leave granted under the rules in place from 11 January 2018 will count towards the 180 days Based on language above, it seems that it will only effect if a PBS dependent only if PBS depen...

PSC Appointment for Dependent Child

I need to extend the leave to remain for my child, and am trying to figure out how to book the PEO appointment. I cannot find the right link to see the availability of appointments before I fill out all the details. Does anyone know what is the right website to do that? Also, how to I book it just f...

ILR Absences for PBS dependent

Based on @Vinny's post about New Changes, it seems that even the dependents will have to have continuous period of stay. I wanted to clarify -- if my partner's extension is already approved (or will be approved before Jan 11, 2018), it seems she will not be subject to this requirement?

Dependent ILR Absences

Hi All, I have a question about the ILR for my wife, which will be due in a few months (I got mine last month). I have read in many forum posts that the requirement for less than 180 days of absence is only true for main applicant (not the dependents). However, I cannot find any official documents /...

MN1 Registeration and British Citizenship

Dear All, I just received my ILR and am looking to register my UK born child as the British Citizen. I had the following questions: a) Is there a way to speed up the process (e.g. a premium service?) b) What is the process / steps to get the British Passport (i.e. wait for the MN1 process to complet...

Re: What Benefits am I entitled to with ILR?

Thanks CR001, as always! Sorry, I misspoke. I meant the Disability Allowance (and other disability related benefits). I am the only one who has ILR in the family. My daughter who has disability will qualify for citizenship as MN1 but may take a few months to complete that process. I don't want to cl...

What Benefits am I entitled to with ILR?

Dear All, Thanks to you, and God, I got my ILR approved recently. I have a UK born daughter, who I want to now apply citizenship for. (My wife and 2 other kids are still on dependent visas for a few more months before they are eligible for ILR). Questions: a) Can anyone point me to the right resourc...

Re: Do you need to be employed at the time of ILR?

Thanks. a) I am fortunate that income threshold is not a problem. Have always been an employee or looking for work (never self-employed, so no complication of tax changes etc.). That part is straight forward. However, over 5 years, I have had a couple of jobs outside UK when the income and taxes wer...

Re: Do you need to be employed at the time of ILR?

Like always, thanks a lot zimba. You've been a life saver. There are just two things killing me with stress:

a) employment status at the time of ILR
b) have I missed listing any trip on the list of trips - (even though I had 100+ trips over last 5 years, the SAR requests came back with Zero data!)

Re: Do you need to be employed at the time of ILR?

Thanks zimba. I need to score 75 points only, as my initial approval was based on rules in Apr 2009. However, I got confused based on some of the information I listed in my previous message: a) Do I have to be employed in UK at the time of ILR application? Over the last couple of months, I am employ...
