Intended tone was "friendly-informative although I´m in a rush (and non-native in English)", so forgive me if it came across rude  US citizens are not visa-required for visiting purposes in either Éire or the UK. All you need is your passport and evidence that you can support your s...

...I am an American national and don't require a visa to enter the UK or Ireland... As a US-citizen, you can obviously just go anyway, no problems to be expected... Okay... I am not sure if I'm understanding your intended tone here. It is not obvious to me why "no problems are to be expected&q...

Hi Christian, Thanks for your response. I was under the impression that the COA allowed you to travel outside the UK and back in? Is this not the case? We are married and travelling to the Republic of Ireland (my husband's country of origin & nationality) via ferry from Holyhead and back. *ETA: ...

Travelling on the COA

Hi all, I have just received our passports back in the post, having requested them for travel next month. I was desperately hoping that the RC would be issued with this request, as I know that has worked for lots of other people, but sadly, no RC. :( Anyway, we are going to be travelling to Ireland ...

Thank you everyone for the replies. I ended up sending off one more email before calling and, lo and behold, a response! (I wonder if they simply sit around and read the forums all day when they should be processing our visas? ) Good Afternoon, Firstly, please accept my sincere apologies for t...

Name misspelled on EEA2 Certificate of Application

Hi all, I've already posted this in another thread but thought I might get a bit more advice by starting a new topic. Apologies and thanks to those who've already responded in the other thread. Here is the history of my issue: EEA2 sent - 28/01/2012 EEA2 received by UKBA - 30/01/2012 COA received 25...

Okay, I need some advice from those of you who have had success in emailing UKBA. Here is the history of my issue: Hi all, great news! My COA arrived yesterday. Here's my timeline so far. EEA2 sent - 28/01/2012 EEA2 received by UKBA - 30/01/2012 COA received 25/02/2012 (dated 22/02) It confirms righ...

Hi all, great news! My COA arrived yesterday. Here's my timeline so far. EEA2 sent - 28/01/2012 EEA2 received by UKBA - 30/01/2012 COA received 25/02/2012 (dated 22/02) It confirms right to work, etc. My only concern is that they have my name misspelled on the COA. Anyone experience this before? Sho...

Yikes, if 6-month-old payslips and bills are required for spouses, then we are truly screwed! I followed the application instructions to the letter, providing two of my husbands payslips, both of which were less than 6 weeks old (which is what is requested in the guidelines). We also provided our cu...

For those who have hit or almost hit the 6-month mark... Have you called/emailed UKBA about your application? If so, how many times? Was it recent? What is the nature of your application (spouse or unmarried partner)? Although I know you can never know for sure what's going on over there, maybe if w...

Well, my application is out! My details are:

EEA2 sent - 28/01/2012
EEA2 received by UKBA - 30/01/2012

Commence the long wait. Am I reading the recent reports correctly that it is taking on average a month to get the COA? I won't pester them before then, if that's the case.

One more quick question for all of you who've already applied... what sort of post did you send it by and which type of pre-paid envelope did you include with the application? I'm heading to the post office today, and I thought maybe there was a kind of standard envelope or postage that everyone was...

Hi everyone, I am so grateful for this board! I am currently trying to work my way through the 100+ pages of this EEA2 topic, but figured I would leave my info and ask a few questions while I do so. I'm very sorry if these have already been covered before! I am a US national married to an EEA (Irish...
