ILR Received

I've received my ILR finally. Stamped 4 Apr 2012, received by post 2 May 2012. Note that I called on 18 Apr 2012 and was told it was still being processed, so not sure if there was a timing issue with their internal programs being updated with the actual status or not. All to best to everyone else! ...

Solicitor advice

RQI - yeap - that was what the legal team from my then prospective employer advised to HR... They didn't want to p!ss off the HO by getting them to call/expedite. Even now, they are reluctant after 6 months... Not sure if this is from experience or just pre-empting how HO would react to being told t...

Set O v Set O JR

anotherOct2011 - if you look at the list, Set O is actually being processed quicker than Set O JR. I would think this is because caseworkers are less familiar with Set O JR rules (timing and info requirements). The form was confusing indeed! Although a normal Set O based on Tier 1 rules is just as c...

Oct Application

We can only hope looking at the posts they are starting to deal with October applications (EVEN SET O JR).

Days over 180 in 5 years

Has any successful ILR Set O, JR been given to those with over 180 days out of the UK in the last 5 years but none over 90 days in one period?

I've seen success on other forums but would be good to hear from specifically on ILR Set O JR Applicants.

MP experience

My MP wrote on my behalf and told me that it takes about 10 weeks - this was in relation to Employer Checking Service. By the time my MP got a response back from HO, the issue had already been resolved due to the many efforts put in already by my then prospective employer. However, that was to get t...

6 months and still waiting

I called to chase the status of my application as it's already 6 months and it's "still being processed" and there is no end date as to when this will finish being processed even though my MP wrote to complain about my case not being recorded on the Employer Checking Service! Very frustrat...

re: List to watchdog/MPs etc.

re: 2. If we were to claim anything, from various forums, some ppl's visas applications were actually rejected, so these sorts of rules do impact on our eligibility criteria. if people have been watching Mary Portas' Bottomline, you will see that we are all contributing to paying taxes by working, w...

I had a similar experience with MP letter but the UKBA did actually follow up with my new employer to make sure things associated with hiring me had indeed progressed. So the MP letter really does help in that respect. It was worded very strongly and I am very grateful that he (Simon Hughes of the S...

Expedite letter

Just wondering what did people write in their expedite letters? I have a job offer and the table but cannot resign as my ILR has not come thru and i don't know how it has progressed or if it is being processed, except that they have acknowledged receipt and taken the fee from my bank account. I'd li...

 That's just how I feel atm!

Can't even hand in my notice, cos prospective employer needs to see original passport to guarantee my job offer.

My notice period is 3 months!

I feel like I am doing jail time, with no end date.
