Re: Employment question about Director

I am applying for naturalisation under 5 years + 1 year ILR category. I am employed for a company and have been receiving salary via PAYE but I am also a director of the same company. There is a question (1.46) on the form which ask Are you: An employee?, A business partner?, Self-employed?, and a ...

Re: No response

Thanks ohara :) Just shows I should have gotten around to applying earlier. In my case I could have applied any time over the last few years since the law changed. Still, I'm lucky in that I'm in no rush :D Ah dont sweat it. My colleague from New Zealand only just decided to get the BC after having...

Re: BRITISH PASSPORT APPLICATION

Possibly the interviewer expected you to say you are self employed as part of your reply. Your reply that you were working somewhere previously and you are working somewhere different now, I would presume he/she wanted a bit more detail. And from your replies he/she might have deduced your spoken En...

Re: Unsuccessful Naturalisation (AN) applications

Oh No I didn't, because it says to include the letter if you're not married to a BC. Elsewhere in the application there is information about my husband. In my cover letter I mentioned that we are moving to Australia in July. And before I applying I spoke to someone at the HO about my situation becau...

Re: UK Passport Interview Questions Data

Now once we get approval and attend the ceremony how long after is the Certificate issued? Now she has a US passport which she can travel on but will need some sort of evidence when she returns. 1) The ILR will be redundant as she has citizenship. 2) Without a citizenship certificate will she be ab...

Re: Travelling After Citizenship Ceremony

Following a grant of citizenship your BRP will be cancelled, which means a carrier may refuse to accept it as evidence that you are entitled to reside in the UK. As all airlines do not have access to UK immigration computers at the point of check in and with being presented with a BRP which appears...

Re: Travelling After Citizenship Ceremony

No JohnnyZee, the admins were not scaremongering as you put it. The OP was asking for suggestions on what to do in his circumstance, and the admins were helpful in providing potential solutions, and stated the consequences ( fine of £1000 if BRP is not returned within 5 days and risking criminal rec...

Re: little query

One suggestion is to get your MP involved, write them a letter, might speed things up. My brother in law did that for his family after waiting for over 7 months to hear anything, and lo and behold got the approval within a couple of weeks. Think the MP's office wrote to HO. Clean and straightforward...

overstayed till dec 2006 and was removed by ho, I would say, not till December 2016 at the earliest (10 years from the end of your illegal overstay). Technically that should have been the case for his first naturalisation. But as the OP already had his first naturalisation refused in March 2015, so...

Re: little query

I'm afraid the way HO sends you a letter and returning your documents could be either together or separately in no particular order. Does it really matter though? You would have realised at the time of application that the wait times can be anything from 6 months onwards, so no use stressing out, th...

Hey chaps! I'm finding myself in a similar situation needing to travel in 4 weeks time. Just curious if anyone knows if everyone has to have an identification interview or just selected people. I imagine that may slow the process down somewhat. Everyone has to attend a passport interview. If you ar...

Re: Form AN and BRP Card

Whatever the cost of using NCS is, it is worth the investment, and you can choose NCS from any council, not just from your own. They also check that your application is filled in correctly and make photocopies of other supporting documents, including your non UK passport. Trust us it is highly recom...

Re: Long Absence - Need seniors input

You will need to list all your absences for the last 5 years as part of the application. No need for further supporting documentation. HO will be able to check your absences on the database for everytime you return to UK, as your non UK passport would have been scanned.

Re: Citizenship ceremony extension - Help Please

Tough spot. Seems like whether you like it or not, theres bound to be hassles in extending it beyond the 6 month provision or having the ceremony conducted abroad - there's the question of whether your future intentions lie in the UK, and then there is the back and forth and time spent between you a...

Re: Passport Application Timing advise

You have to factor in the passport interview as well after you have submitted the passport application. The whole passport process including the interview and actual receipt of passport was just over 2 weeks for me, it that helps. From what Ive read, it varies with each application, the guidance say...

Re: Naturalisation Application after 10 year stay

... Make sure its 12 months of ILR to the NCS date, and you were physically present in UK exactly 12 months ago. It would be in your interest to be able to prove you were physically present in UK on the day 5 years to the date of the naturalisation application too. Yes that of course, my bad :(

Re: Naturalisation Application after 10 year stay

Note that you need self assessment account from HMRC for the time you were a director of a limited company. Pretty much all documents required are listed in the guidance. Its not as exhaustive a list as it is for visa applications. You can go to any council for NCS, book whatever date that suits you...
