Re: Going away for 6 months after application: UK address?

Why not apply for naturalisation AFTER you have completed your affairs abroad and then return to UK? That way you will avoid the stress and hassle, and potential cost of meeting the process requirements. Is this option not available to you?

Re: Form and Documents required for Nationality - ILR holder

Sounds like you need to fill in the AN form, check your personal circumstances against the criteria in the AN guide and see what documents apply to you. Less onerous than ILR requirements. Here's a useful link: http://www.immigrationboards.com/british-citizenship/citizenship-faqs-common-questions-re...

Re: Interview of naturalisation

As long as your English is fine, they will not cancel your ILR. Not going for interview will make it more fishy. hi guys i had interview call from homeoffice for naturalisation on 18/03/16 but i didt go because of back pain i did send them my medical then i request for further to reply and they sai...

Re: passport interview without the letter???

Thats cutting it real fine. The letter is an official invite to the interview with your reference details, and in a way showing it at the interview centre proves that you are a legitimate person attending the interview from a security perspective. But since they have your details on the system alrea...

Re: Applying for British Passport With Debts

I apologise he does have British Citizenship - Indefinite leave to stay I explained wrongly in my post - he got that in 2009. Regarding the money - My husband's brother has offered to loan him the money for the passport - but his brother does not know about his debt so he is unable to ask him for m...

Re: Passport Application taking over 12 weeks..

Passport applications could take up to 6 weeks, but 12 is unusually long. There could be a number of reasons for this. Have you had your interview done? I would get the MP involved in this, think you have waited long enough. I gather you received no text messages, letters at all apart from 'undertak...

Re: Last page of British Passport

Its important in my opinion. One time when returning from Istanbul they pulled me over at customs. Asked for my passport and itinery. She put them on one side behind her and forgot to give me them back so she called the emergency contact...my wife...to tell her i forgot it. Luckily i realised and a...

Re: Naturalisation

Going by the facts, yours is a complex case. You were unfortunate to be caught up in the bogus college scandal which started the whole mess. The rules pointed out by geriatrix might shed some light on where you stand, however the discretion required by HO is based on a scale of probability and subje...

Re: 21 days to book ceremony lapsed

Hi I tried to call the council numerous times and unfortunately today 21 days have lapsed. What does this mean for my approval? Am I in trouble? What can I do? Why didnt you just rock up in person at the council and make a booking if you couldn't get hold of them after so many attempts? Thats what ...

Re: Naturalisation - Surname field in foreign passport blank

What troubles me with this post, is why op had never seemed it necessary to resolve this anomaly. You have waited all these years. It may call into question the fact that you were seeking to hide something. I am clearly not suggesting that this is the case. There is a sudden influx of name change q...

Since you are a naturalised British citizen, you dont need to provide grandparents details. I wrote unknown on my form. Kankerot - theres no rhyme or reason as to why some applications get approved quicker than others. What we have provided is just speculation as to why applications can take a while, none of us knows for sure, we dont work for HO. You just have to be patient. Re: NCS Applications fast tracked?

For BC applications if you met ILR rules back in 09 are they checked again for a BC application? I guess my question is since my passport is no longer valid will it be considered as cance...

Re: Tax documents for Company directors

The statement of account from HMRC shows you the tax return you have filed for a particular year, nothing more. Its addressed to you as an individual, not as a company. It states the financial year, the amount due/refund for the year thats it. The SA302s have a little bit more detail on the actual t...

Re: Work History - Employee and director of a company

The fact that your accountant forgot to file your self assessment for 2 years, is grounds for you to get a better reduced fee from him. Joke accountants like this one are clearly a liability. Get shot of her/him asap. And demand a refund. Exactly, unprofessionalism such as this causing undue stress...

Re: Work History - Employee and director of a company

The rule does say submit your latest/recent SA, which technically for you is 2012/13. It seems the latest P60s plus HMRC info that you have would be sufficient to satisfy the SA requirement for limited company directors, but better get clarification from other posters. I can only go by what other po...

Seeing that those who had their naturalisation done very quickly are all Tier 1 and Indian so are they processed differently as they are already in the system due to their Tier 1 status? Are applications where it is due to being married to a BC always more scrutinised? It all depends on the individ...
