Travel Document (Convention of 28 July 1951)

Is the holder of a valid Travel Document (Convention of 28 July 1951) issued by the UKBA eligible to work in the UK without restriction? The document is like a passport however it is blue and on the bio page it states the persons original nationality rather than British. I believe this is issued to ...

Student / Work Experience Visa

I'm writing on behalf of a friend, I hope someone can help... My friend (Turkish female) graduated from a Turkish university in 2011 with a degree in midwifery. She continued her studies and is currently enrolled on a Masters at the same university. In 2010 she went to Germany on an internship for t...

Hi Melhan, that's a very thorough list, I'm not surprised it takes up three ring binders!!! The only thing that I'd say is missing is the Sponsorship Undertaking form (SU07/12) - I know this is strictly not required for spouse visa (only dependant visa) however I've read of a number of refusals due...

Thanks Melhan! It was such a huge relief to get a yes, although they did keep us waiting (and worrying!) for almost 12 weeks! As long as you provide photocopies of your documents they should return the originals to you. We supplied photocopies of everything we needed back (pay slips, bank statements...

Hi Melhan, I married my Turkish husband in Turkey in January and we received our spouse visa in April :D I can confirm you don't need to have your international marriage book translated, as you say it already contains a number of translations including English. Also, we didn't supply the Formul B do...

Change of contact details

Hi, Does anyone know how I can inform the UKBA of a change in contact details (telephone number) whilst our spouse visa application is being processed? My husband's mobile phone has been stolen and he's having problems getting his number transferred to another SIM card. I'm worried that the UKBA may...

Submitting online application for spouse visa

Dear members, My partner and I are getting married on 25th January. I was advised to submit our application online ASAP in order that we could ensure getting an appointment at the visa centre to submit our supporting documents soon after the wedding. I therefore submitted the online application and ...

Payslips for Spouse Visa

We are due to apply for my husbands spouse visa at the end of January. We are leaving the UK mid January to travel to my husbands home country to submit the application. I'm paid on the 26th of each month and my payslip is issued a day or so before this. So the problem is my January payslip (issued ...

To make it as difficult as possible to bring a foreign spouse to the UK - in my opinion anyway! I'm going to have an immigration solicitor review our application before submission. It's an extra expense but, in my opinion, definitely worth it for a little peace of mind. As you say these new rules ma...

MYRE, that's a good attitude to have. Good luck with your appeal.

May I ask which documents did your wife receive from City & Guilds to confirm she met the language requirement?

Thanks

Hi gigixx, I just came across your post when browsing the site now. I think your boyfriend has received bad advice. In my opinion you should be as honest and open as you can be in your application. You could try emailing intcg@cityandguilds.com, maybe they can advise of a test centre that is near your wife. I emailed and they replied very quickly with addresses and telephone numbers of the nearest centers, although they were in the UK as my partners currently here on a visitors visa. [/b]
