Re: 28 days and 5 years calculation

My understanding is that they don't calculate the period between stamping your first visa and your first arrival to the UK as absence. Your absences are still counted from the day you entered the UK.

Re: 28 days and 5 years calculation

Hi , Can the 28 day criteria be used only if someone enters within 90 days of stamping. Where does it say. No, but if someone enters the UK within the 90 days, their count of five years begins on the date the visa was stamped and they can apply 28 days before that date (after five years). However i...

Re: Employer Letter for ILR (O)

I think it's fine, what matters is the content of the letter, they don't require a special format. Mine didn't mention UKBA at all, only "to whom it may concern" and this format was fine, twice (extension and ILR). So I don't think this is something you should be too worried about, what yo...

Re: Tier 1 to ILR

In my opinion, you should select Tier 1. Further to this question, I wanted to ask that how much do we pay while booking the appointment? Do we pay £100 booking fee or do we have to pay the entire amount of the ILR application fee? Or do we pay the actual ILR application fee when we attend our appo...

Re: ILR - Set O section 11 (Documents)

Hi I am at present in Tier 1 (General) and will be applying for ILR at Liverpool PEO in April. While completing the Set (O) form, I am getting confused in section 11 – Documents, mainly between 11B to 11V. If you lived in the UK on a Tier 1 General visa throughout the five years (or more?), you onl...

Re: Help filling SET (O) form

Yes, that is what I did. I took the total amount of income I was declaring (I also received irregular and one-off payments) and divided it by 12 (i.e. the maximum number of months you can claim for). I entered this figure in 5.3 and 5.6, and then in the box under 5.6 I wrote the following: The figu...

I also understood question 5.6 to be relevant only under the conditions mentioned at the bottom of the preceding page.

Can anyone confirm this?

They will probably appear later. I had the same experience trying to book an appointment at Croydon. Just wait another week or so and try again.

Re: SET(O) - a few quick questions

Thanks dk2011! Re the last point, I wasn't sure if the earnings evidence for Tier 1 would suffice because under section 5 they require evidence covering "the last 3 months", and the period I claim points for ends in February, therefore March would not be included. My appointment is in the ...

SET(O) - a few quick questions

Hello, I've started to fill SET(O) form, and have a number of small questions: Page 7,1.12- BRP Reference number - is that different from the BRP number which is required later, and which appears on the BRP? Page 46 - Fingerprints: does this refer to the first time my fingerprints were taken in my c...

Absence letter for Tier 1 General

Hello everyone, I have a question about the letter of absences from my employer. I'm on Tier 1 General applying for ILR in a few weeks. I will ask my (previous) employer to sign a letter stating that my absences from the UK were on paid annual leave. None of the absences were for work or any other r...

Thanks, Uday. and good luck with your application!

a couple of questions -

2. Does this apply for Tier 1 General? I don't really know what SOC is and where I find out about it...

4. I will be getting a letter instead of the payslips. Does anyone know about any timing requirement?

Re: UK Absences

I never said you don't need a letter at all, for absences less than 180 days in a year you can prepare a summary of days out of UK yourself, letter from employers is not required, absences of more than 180 days in a year will only be accepted if there is a compelling and compassionate reason Source...

Re: UK Absences

no letter from employer should be required if your absences are within limit, you can prepare an absences letter yourself to submit with your application Is there any reference in the form (SET(O) in my case), the guidance notes, the law or anywhere to this rule? It certainly makes sense but from r...

ILR (Tier 1G) - Earnings + Absences

Hello everyone, I will be applying for ILR in late March, after living in the UK for five years with tier 1 (general) visa. I've gone through the form and guidance, and I have a few questions: 1. Section 5, question 5.2 - I live with a flatmate in a rented flat. Should I specify the amount of the en...

Re: Tier-1 extension Successful PEO @ Croydon on 15-Mar-2012

We were asked to wait for to check the info that will be printed on our BRP cards. So we verified all that and our originals, then signed the forms for BRP cards. Hi anjalimaj, Congrats on your approval. I was wondering about the last bit - I was at Croydon too this week, and my extension was appro...

You may apply early, but bear in mind that the case worker might decide to grant you the extension from the date of processing the application and not from the date of expiry of your current visa. In such case you might find yourself short of time for ILR, which means you will have to make another a...

Tier 1 extension - form & bank statements

Hi all, I have one more question about the last page of the form (section 7 - summary sheet). They give a list of documents we might submit (A) and another blank list to fill (B). There's also a table of points claimed where I also have to list the documents submitted as evidence. Do I need to list ...
