hello, i spoke to UKBA and i got the below answers 1. As such there is no limit on the depedant absences. 2. Dependant has to complete 2 years on the dependant visa to qualify for ILR. Any other visa of differernt category cannot be taken into account. This is contradictory to what i knew and posted...

thanks a lot D4109125. Apologies for being daft, What exactly does this mean? 1. Absences should be limited and for good reason. In these 2 years of cohabitation before ILR, dependent has been out of the UK for total of 70 days for below reasons 40 Days Main applicant + dependant holidays 12 Days on...

Drawing conclusion here, Sandhya needs to travel back to home country in order to get dependant visa. She can do it so even before current leave under tier 1 general category expires. She can go as soon as Varun gets tier 1 extension. Better to get both Visas with minimum difference in terms of days...
