I decided to ring the IPS this morning and i'm furious: I spoke with a polite lady who confirmed that my application has been received (great) but only yesterday - one week after I lodged it with the Post Office. I cannot see the point of this check and send service if applications are left to lang...

Hi Anuonyammre, unfortunately despite paying a fortune all correspondence is sent via 2nd class post, I received my approval letter yesterday but it was dated back in March. The acknowledgement letter doesn't really tell you anything, so long as the money has been taken that is the main thing. Good ...

Hi Dhuidrom, unless you are the partner of a British Citizen, you need to wait one year from when you get ILR.

Congratulations Arunkrish!!

I applied through NCS Westminster also (a few days after you), did you get approval and invitation from Westminster together?

For the private ceremonies, I assume you get a specific time?

I paid with a debit card - I assume that if you pay with a cheque they would need to wait for it to clear until they accept the application. Not sure that is the case but what I would assume.

I attended on 08/03 - same as above, nice and simple.

They send same day and provide you Royal Mail tracking number which it seems some NCS don't.

I had a morning appointment at 9:30, but was seen at 09:20 when I arrived so recommend them.

Good luck!

I just had mine yesterday and was successful for ILR/Settlement. If you are successful, then you get your passport and all your documents back as well as a generic letter, but there is no stamp in your passport - you need to wait 7-10 working days for your biometric residence permit. They advise tha...

ILR advice - visa expiring soon, exceeding absence criteria

Hi all, I am in the UK on an Ancestry Visa - valid until 08/03/2012 - I entered the UK 03/05/2007 - as I entered within 90 days, I can take advantage of the recent change of rules to include those days at the start so I am eligible to apply for ILR within 28 days of 08/03/2012 - ie. now! I have an a...

That is the one I am going to, but once I get to point 2.1 to download the form, I cannot go any further in the application process - there is no option to proceed to 2.2 or 3 as far as I can see.

I am currently on 195 days so in a similar situation. I called and spoke to UKBA today and was advised that over 180 days you need an explanation for why you have exceeded. I was also informed that in these scenarios, it is likely that the case officer may not approve the application on the day, may...
