Re: what is the processing times for the DL form

I called the UKVIS a few minutes ago. The officer who dealt with my enquiry said that in general the aim is to deal with all applications submitted by October 2014. However, there is no time frame as these things are 'not set in stone.' In as far as my case is concerned (which has been outstanding f...

Re: Discritionary leave to remain renewal is taking too long

I wrote a letter of complaint to the UKVIS and got a response assuring me that my case would be dealt by June 2015 (having been waiting for a 16 months now). A few minutes ago I called the immigration department for an update. The officer who dealt with my enquiry was quite embarrassed to tell me th...

Re: Discritionary leave to remain renewal is taking too long

I applied for an extension of leave on the 10th February 2014 and have been waiting for a decision. Fed up with waiting I wrote a letter of complaint to the complaints department of UKVIS on the 28th of March 2015. They responded today a good 38 days after my complaint. Their response reads "Th...

Re: what is the processing times for the DL form

My experience with the UK Visa and Immigration Service is frustrating. I applied for extension of discretionary leave to remain in February 2014 and my case has not been assessed neither has it been assigned to a caseworker. I managed to get through to UKVIS this morning regarding an update on my ca...

Re: what is the processing times for the DL form

I wrote to the UKVI on the 9th of January 2015 regarding my outstanding application. Within three days there was a terse response. "Thank you for your letter concerning your immigration matters. While we understand your concern for a swift decision, this has not been possible due the sheer volu...

Re: what is the processing times for the DL form

The UKVIS is inconsistent in dealing with applications for discretionary leave. A friend of mine applied for visa renewal three months ago and got a response yesterday. I on the other hand has been waiting since February 2014. Their approach does not make sense and appears to be a case of hit and mi...

Re: what is the processing times for the DL form

Art Mag If you look at the reasons for refusal to grant ILR the judge states that in the original application the applicants did not ask for such but the UKVIS has to consider a grant for ILR in cases involving children. The ruling confirms an earlier ruling whose salient points I have detailed belo...

Re: what is the processing times for the DL form

There has been an interesting development in court today. I just wonder how UKVIS wi assess extension of disceretionary leave in light of this judgement. UK Court of Appeal has today ruled that Home Office's policies to grant 3 or 2.5 years Discretionary Leave to Remain instead of ILR in cases invol...

Re: what is the processing times for the DL form

It appears there is no formula in regards to how they assess discretionary leave applications. I fail to understand why it takes them long to make a decision and it is frustrating. Currently I am bombarding them with requests maybe it might get them to get off their backsides and do some work.

Re: what is the processing times for the DL form

My MP wrote to UKVI inquiring about the progress of my application. They wrote back giving my immigration history. However, there were some inaccuracies and I wrote giving them a true account of my history on the 9th of September 2014. The Older Live Cases Unit wrote back stating that consideration ...

Re: Discritionary leave to remain renewal is taking too long

To all those who are waiting this is my story. I applied for extension of discretionary leave in February 2014. The UKBA did not acknowledge receipt of my application. In June 2014 I wrote to my MP requesting a follow up. They wrote to my MP after ten weeks advising receipt of my application and sta...

I send my application for an extension of discretionary leave in February but got no response. I was granted discretionary leave to remain in March 2011 and unsure whether they will give me a further three year extension or indefinite. Would I be allowed in the UK with visa about to expire?

My discretionary leave visa is expiring in March 2014. Early this January I would like to travel abroad for two weeks leaving my visa with a month and half before expiry. Will I have problems with immigration regarding reentry into the UK?

I am wondering is there anybody out there in the process of applying for the extension of a discretionary leave visa and if so can you tell me how long it might take to be processed etc. My current discretionary visa for three years is expiring in February 2014 and I need to apply by January.

Help Indefinite Leave To Remain Via Long Residence

I am considering applying for indefinite leave to remain via long residence and need advise on how to go about it. I came to the UK on 16 March 1998 on a visitors visa that was converted to a three year student visa. In 2002 I got a 5 year work permit visa that expired in 2007. I applied for indefin...
