No, I didn't. So the documents & passport most probably will take several more days to arrive.

Thanks for the reply, just as I thought... If they decide in my favour and grant me the visa, what problems should I expect in the future given that I'll have been an overstayer for at least 4 months? Would it be a problem if I try to switch to become a dependent on my partner (British citizen)? I w...

Working while waiting for out-of-time application

I had applied for PSW visa before my student visa expired, but unfortunately due to a problem with the payment it was returned as invalid. As soon as I got the documents back I re-applied with a covering letter why it is now an out-of-time application. It is clear that you can work full-time whilst ...

Oh and retain a photocopy your application, wouldn't hurt to make copies of the documents too (though ensure you send the ORIGINALS).

Make sure you sign all relevant spaces. Write your name on the back of your photos and attach them in an envelope to the space indicated.

Include your passport(s), residence permit(s), etc. to show your immigration status whilst you were in the UK.

Don't worry, your mail hasn't been lost. I think Royal Mail removes the online access to record after a while.

What method of payment did you use? If you used debit card or cheque you can see if they've taken the money out.

It doesn't matter what you pick (but √ is a tick, x is a cross, and / is a slash FYI), just:

be careful to read the instructions VERY carefully, fill in properly and do photocopy your form before sending off. Double check your payment page and photos, and signatures in each relevant space.

What service did you use to mail your application? If it's recorded you can check.

Has your account been debited for the fee?

If you know your application reached its destination, and you've seen that they've deducted the money that means your application is being processed. No need to worry about the acknowledgement letter, apparently some people never received it but their applications were successful. However, did you r...

From experience I can tell you that acknowledgement letter does NOT mean that the payment has been processed. You should be able to tell though. What payment method did you use? You should be able to see the payment deducted on your account if you used debit card / cheque. You don't need to worry if...

Hi Noman, No. Your application has been deemed invalid and therefore according to the home office you have not made an application. Unfortunately there is no discretion when it comes to applications deemed invalid because payment could not be paid. Its a statute, non payment automatically invalidat...

Having a copy will remove doubt.
I agree, I should have copied my application before posting. I have a full copy this time.

I am going to re-apply together with a cover letter explaining the circumstances. Sending a cheque instead this time... Hope it works. I wish instead of trying once and sending the whole application back, they contacted the applicant via one of the routes (mail, email, telephone) and asked for an al...

I received the acknowledgement letter on the 3rd (letter dated February 1).

I'm waiting until after 4 weeks have passed, then will try to call UKBA.

Also forgot to tell my visa also expired in the meantime. So a bit nervous...

I have the same problem, my application was delivered to the HO on 30 January. I have received the acknowledgement letter but my account hasn't been debited until now, not surprisingly I haven't received the biometric invitation letter either. Checked with the bank and have been told that it doesn't...
