postal application - 3-6 months
premium service - 3-5 hours

Actually they started to give Biometric Residence Permit to people who apply for their visa on or after 1st March 2012. And a person would need to come to a Home Office for his/her biometrics to be taken regardless whether application is submitted by post or in person. Those who applied before 29th ...

SET O - application sent on 31st October 2011
Letter received on 5th November (dated 2nd November).
Money out - 4th November
