I have no idea how they know that my photos are older than a month as I am sure that I have not submitted the same photos before. Thankfully, they do NOT require me to get my referee to counter-s...

2003 would be correct. I was in the same situation - came on holiday working visa, switched into HSMP and then Tier1 G. When I went to NCS (nationality checking service), the interviewee phoned up UKBA and said that it was the date of first entry (when I arrived on my working holiday visa). I found ...

Re: Sharing Time and Cost saving tips

nathan_nathan TIP 3: Ceremony: Private or Public Ceremony Private Ceremonies cost you 55 pounds extra but can be done immediately. So if you are in a hurry, you can do it. Not entirely true. It varies in cost from council to council for private ceremonies. Some councils charge in excess of £100. So...

As a matter of interest, does anyone know the validity of the biometric ID obtained through ILR once one has been naturalized. I am curious if it is still a valid form of ID. Are we expected to destroy the biometric ID or return it to UKBA/HO? Thanks in advance It seems that the question has been a...

In addition to your passport you need to send your naturalisation certificate. That alone proves your status as a British citizen and it supersedes PR status.

With all due respect, the guys at the Post Office are not very well trained from my own personal experience. If you read through the threads, you will get that sentiment repeated many times. You only need to provide your current passport (in your case). ILR is definitely NOT listed as a required doc...

Hi Vicky, You do not need to send your ILR biometric card. Just your passport, 2x photos and naturalisation certificate. I did my application this way through the post office check and send thi Friday. There was no request for my ILR biometric card. This agrees with what is requested. See: https://w...

Both of my referees were colleagues and my application was successful. I don't think it is a problem provided you are not related.

Good luck

It depends on the local council that you will be having your ceremony at. Some provide both at the same time and others do them separately.

So don't panic mate and be patient - the long journey is almost over. And congrats!

Then it seems that macjackbauer will need to get a passport from his embassy based on this info (as I interpret macjackbauer post that he does not have ANY passport - either current or cancelled). Although, as Astrid has suggested, macjackbauer should first give IPS a call to see if there is a way a...

I don't think the instructions have been worded with due care in the new gov.uk website. refer to the table of supporting documents at page 14. it has much clearer checklist. table B relates to passport used to enter to UK for the first time and is not applicable to people applying on the basis of ...

As per this link: https://www.gov.uk/apply-first-adult-passport/documents-you-must-send-with-your-application It states that you must send the passport you used to come into the UK. It conflicts with Astrid's reasoning though I can understand her logic. I would suggest that you phone UKBA to find ou...

You do need to fill in your parents details even if you parents are not british and you have obtained BC through naturalization... that is assuming that it is your first British passport. http://www.direct.gov.uk/prod_consum_dg/groups/dg_digitalassets/@dg/@en/@travel/documents/digitalasset/dg_175798...
