Tier 2 General Extension Rule

Hi Gurus

I want am on Tier 2 General Visa and my leave will expire in March 2017. Is it possible to apply for an early extension via experianced salary route via my sponsor? What do the rules say about this?

Not sure if they will allow Tier 2 General 3 years visa holders to switch into 5 yers visa,, but we will have to wait for the final outcome as no details have been given yet. I think they will give further updates by end of this month and next month. Hope for best.
