residence card received in 3 months!

Hi all Just want to share my timeline. I was shocked to receive my card so quickly, hopefully others will experience the same. I applied as unmarried partner (Canadian) to a German citizen who has been working in the UK for 5 years. We've lived together in the UK the last two years (I was on a worki...

Re: Coa

Thanks for confirming my suspicions! Luckily I am self-employed so nobody is asking me for the certificate. I don't anticipate it will be a problem, so I won't waste my energy with complaining. I applied 28 July and recieved COA today, dated 18 September. The weird thing is that it says it cannot co...

Re: Coa

I applied 28 July and recieved COA today, dated 18 September. The weird thing is that it says it cannot confirm my right to work. We are unmarried partners (Canadian & German) who have lived together 2+ years. I applied for the EEA Family Permit from Canada and it was approved, so that's how I e...

orionite Did you receive your passport back in time? I am in a similar situation, but budgeted less time (4 weeks)... also have a family wedding to attend. Curious to know how long it finally took you?

This thread said that as an unmarried partner you don't have the same automatic right to work as a married partner on a Family Permit.

But perhaps I misunderstood the circumstances that person was writing about?

thanks for your feedback!

travel on EEA family permit?

Hi all I've learned a LOT from previous threads and I didn't see these questions answered so I hope you can help. Background: I am a Canadian citizen who will be joining my German partner in UK on an EU family permit in June. We are planning to apply as unmarried partners (by then we will have evide...

Congrats on getting the visa! I am in a similar situation so have learned from your experience. Question: does your Family Permit give you automatic right to work? I read in this forum that for unmarried partners often right to work is not granted until the Residence Card is issued (you apply for it...
