New passport holder living outside UK

Dear All, I was granted British citizenship and received passport in June 2013. A new situation at work meant that I had to migrate to Dubai in July 2013. I have been back to UK a couple of times since. During my last visit, I had some questions by the immigration officer at the airport about my emp...

Surrendering Indian Passport in UAE -Newly Naturalised Brit

Hi All,

I have just been naturalised and received my British Passport. An improvement in work situation has led me to emigrate to UAE next week.

This being the case, can I surrender my Indian passport in UAE and apply for OCI there? I'll be travelling using my British Passport.

Thanks for the help.

Hi,

No, I did not apply separately for my wife.

She was included in my SET(O) application as a dependant. She joined me in the UK recently. (She was on a workpermit dependant visa)

I did not submit any P60 at all. (I only had photocopies attested by my employer for the last four years. So, took a chance by not submitting it) But, as mentioned before, I submitted a letter from my employer confirming the End of year earnings for 2011-12. The letter from the employer just stated ...

Thanks Dimsav.

Are photocopies of P60 with attestation from the HR (Has the company stamp and signature) enough? Or, do I really have to go down the route of getting the letter from HMRC?

Hi, Considering you are on old style workpermit (which is what I am on too), I was told by Greenie (Guru) the following: "The two year requirement is for applications for ILR by PBS dependents under para 319E, and for applications for ILR for spouses of settled persons under para 287. - if you ...

Hi Greenie, Original plan was to apply on 30/03, but after your recommendations I am changing my travel plans. So, reading between the lines in your e-mail you are also saying that I do not have to rush through to get the SET(O) with a dependant done before April 6th, as this was not part of the con...
