ILR BRP is required for naturalisation application. Once naturalisation certificate is received after ceremony, you can apply for passport.

Also, once naturalised as BC, ILR is irrelevant, so no need for BRP to apply for passport..

Your original are yours, there is no need for them to keep them in any scenario because you will obviously need them in the future. Don't worry, everything should be fine.

Holding thumbs for you :-)

I don't think you will qualify for any other benefits because of your high salary. The maximum threshold for benefits such as tax credits or income support etc is around £26k but this does not include child benefits which is what you can claim. Did you look at the link I provided on benefits?? In th...

Sorry, I forgot to include the link I was referring to in my last post. http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=79378 She can only apply on SET(M) if she is already on FLR(M), which she is not. In May 2013, she needs to apply on SET(O) and select 'other category' If you search the forum, yo...

Because you are on a high salary, you will only be able to claim child benefits.

Sorry forgot about that point. You can claim child bebefit in your name if the child is still in full time education, tax credits if claimed jointly with you s the main applicant, but for example, housing benefit might be different.
What benefits were you thinking you could possibly claim?

She can only apply on SET(M) for ILR if she is already on a FLR(M) visa.

I think she can apply SET(O) under other category, when you have received your ILR.

Senior members or gurus can maybe confirm.

so what is your question?

Would it not be far cheaper to apply for her ILR when she qualifies as a T2 dependent rather than switch to FLR(M)??

Your wife can apply for child benefit because she is British. You can only apply for child benefit once you have got ILR. Benefits won't affect your BC naturalisation application but if you are claiming benefits it it will affect your ILR application as you are not entitled, except for joint tax cre...

Then the steps are :
1. Apply for ILR on SET(M) form if your current visa is a spouse of BC visa
2. Once ILR approved, apply for BC naturalisation - AN form
3. Once BC approved and ceremony done, apply for passport

Are you currently married to a British Citizen?
If you are, then you can apply for naturalisation once you have got ILR.
Passport application can be done once you have been approved for nauralisation and have attended the ceremony.

Yes, that refers to people that applied as the spouse or partner of a BC or person who is settled (already has ILR) - so it would be VAF4A or FLR(M) I am sure that if your wife switches to FLR(M), then she will have to wait 5 years in this category before she is eligible for ILR. From various posts ...

Yes, you can apply now and the link I provided in point 3 explains what you need to do. It is the 5 years immediately before you apply that matters. I would advise to apply using the NCS (nationality checking service) at your local council because that way you can keep your original documents and pa...

You tick the box that you used it for ILR.

Please keep your questions in your original post instead of making new posts for each question.

You could have applied already if you meet the residential requirements : 5 years; or 3 years if married to a BC It is usually 12 months after you have received ILR (free from immigration restrictions) except if you are married to a BC and have 3 years residence. It would help if you posted you immi...
