The absence should not cause a problem for ILR in November 2013. You are quoting the absence requirements for naturalisation as BC. Isaac01 - you are incorrect that the spouse needs to spend 3 years to qualify for ILR. Spouse only needs 2 years residence based on the old rules, then ILR can be appli...

I cannot understand why you are making such a big issue out of this tiny detail. Your absence and your wife's absence are not significant in anyway and there is no need to provide 'proof' that you were 'in contact' for such short periods. The UKBA does allow spouses to travel, even if not travelling...

Children Eligibility Q1: Can my son apply for naturalisation? The term used for children applications as BC is Registration and not Naturalisation. The requirements for children are a lot simpler than for adults. UK born In the child was born in the UK before one parent had ILR/PR, then once one par...

1. The is no requirement to switch once you marry a BC, so you can stay on your T2 until you qualify for ILR, which will be the most sensible way to go to obtain ILR. Then once you have ILR, you can apply for citizenship immediately as spouse of BC if you meet the standard requirements. 2. I am pret...

A biometric residence permit is only issued if for visas issued or extended within the UK. If you have applied for entry clearance from China, the visa will be in your wife's passport and she will not get a BRP. There is no need to worry about this point on the Set(M) form. Also please remember that...

The is no requirement, legal or otherwise, for a spouse to be a dependent visa holder. They can hold their own visa. However, it makes it easier if spouse is a dependent when reaching the stage of ILR etc. as if they are on their own visa, they cannot apply with you and will have to wait till they m...

don't see any reason why you can't! infact you don't need to wait for a week after submission of your application - you can submit you papers at NCS and catch the next plane/train/bus... just ensure someone keeps an eye on your posts as UKBA may contact you should they require any additional inform...

Hi, I will answer what I can : 1) Get naturalisation after 12 months (in fact a day after the day I entered UK in 2007 i.e. 11th Oct 2007). So we can effectively apply on 12th Oct 2013 ? - were you physically present in the UK on 12th October 2008?? that is a standard requirement of physically prese...

It means 'prior to date of application" so the two years preceeding the date the application is made, not the two years before the 18 months you were living apart!

considering the link you have posted is more than 2years old and the current economic climate, i dont think many employers would cover these costs now for employees. also, there would obviously be stringent pay back terms if this was common practice.

Indran, you are grasping at straws and trying to avoid paying for your own ILR, which is an application that you would choose to do, not your employer and you need to meet the requirements, not your employer. I have yet to come across any employer paying for an employee's Settlement application (ILR...

your employer is correct and it is not their responsibility to pay for your ilr, which is indefinite leave to remain, eg settled person free from immigration control and does not expire. ilr is your responsibility and is not an employer sponsored process like a work permit. your employer will know t...
