ILR application was successful today.............
used the same ielts certificate which was used in entry clearance........which expired about 6 months ago.....

Spouse visa to ILR (old rule) with housing benefit..success

Just wanted to let know that my wife's ILR application was successful (Premium service) today..... she was granted 27 months Spouse visa on OLD RULE....... Because we had been relying on housing benefit ( about £550 per month).....we were worried that it might negatively impact the ILR application ....

Hello, My wife is currently on spouse visa (old rule) ie 2 yr route to ILR.....applying in october 2014..... while applying for entry clearance my wife supplied IELTS certificate of score 6.0...........this certificate will expire 2 month before she can apply for ILR as IELTS certificate is only val...

household income of 20000 could mean very little or nothing in housing benifit......
u have to contribute at least 65% of excess income towards rent!!
excess income for family size of 3 { = (ur income less (couples rate+child rate+faamily premium)}

i recently went to discuss HB with my Greenwich Council, and they said that although my wife's name will be on application, they will calculate the benefit for a single parent and child only, which will be less than if my wife were also considered......

My wife is currently on old rule spouse visa.....24mnths complete on nov2014.. I am just trying to find out what options i will have IF my wifes' ILR application (on nov 2014) is unsucessfull..... reason for unsuccessful can be no other than maintainance! what options will i have for her settelment!...

what benefits for full time students with ILR??

I am thinking of going back to full time study???
I have ILR.....wife on old rule spouse visa....and 2yr british child.
I was wondering what benefits i would get if i leave my current part time job and go for a full time 3yr degree course!!

I am not 100% sure, but I do believe that the people issued with old visas are still treated under the old rule.....so their ilr eligibelity is still 2 yrs and will still be considered under the old requirements...my wife's application date was end of JUNE 2012,
