Spoke to an immigration adviser today who said that you can apply as we have completed the qualifying period. Now the next headache, the ESOL and citizenship test. For her previous English test we used a company in Leicester called Learn Skills Today who offer this course http://www.lstuk.co.uk/cour...

You mention an ESOL 'test'. The ESOL option requires attendance on a UKBA approved course and the student has to prove that they have progressed from one level to the next. OK so we in theory could apply tomorrow if she had passed anther relevant ESOL test?

Is this from personal experience or is there anywhere for info on this?

We all know what the UKBA site is like for finding basic stuff out, never mind anything slightly off peak

Applying for SET M after extension

My wife came here on a spouse visa in 2009. After struggling with the Life In UK test we extended her visa in May 2012 where she did the biometric registration and received a Residence Permit card valid until May 2014. I would like to apply for SET M before October as I noticed that after then you h...

ESOL test in the Midlands

After several attempts the wife who is applying for ILR is really struggling to pass the Life In The UK test. AFAIK you can take an ESOL test as an alternative but I have no idea of where she can do a course or who to contact to find out. Does anyone have any pointers for UKBA accredited places/cour...

Test passed and now just waiting for certificate. Wifey received a pass notification on the day.
Does anyone know if they accept these as proof of a pass until you get the certificate?
A bit hesitant to send it straight off as we were told its a bit of a problem if it goes missing.

If her English is fluent, why doesn't she attempt the KOL test? She may just have time for this, assuming she's studied the questions. As others have said it wouldnt help as thats only used for ILR, for an extension you have to have the English requirement. Odd really but thems the rules. We're pre...
