Hi, Just another update. On Thursday, 14 June I got a "we tried to deliver, but you were out" letter (sent through the post, not slipped through the mailbox by delivery guy) from DX. I rearranged delivery for Monday, 15 June (they won't let you go to the depot to pick up, luckily I can wor...

Hi

After contacting my MP, I received my passport and docs back on 1 June and my replacement card on 18 June (there were all those bank holidays, then I had a missed you slip on 14, so it was within the working day time limit).

Good luck to everyone else!

You can find your MP by going to Parliament's Website:

http://findyourmp.parliament.uk/

Then go to the page for your MP on the same site, which will have their email address and post address. You can write to any MP at "MP's name, House of Commons, London, SW1A 0AA"

:D UPDATE So, write after posting that I hadn't heard back from my MP, I received a letter in the post telling me that she had already written to UKBA for me (a few days previously). Then (just like magic), I received a missed Special Delivery envelope the next day (and it was the number I was looki...

I have still not received anything, nor have I heard back from my MP (even though the automated reply said she aims to respond within 10 working days). However, my MP is on the Shadow front bench, so she is busier than an ordinary back bencher. I am thinking of going to her surgery next week. Luckil...

Yes, they should take responsibility for what they put on the guidelines, even if it is a mistake. I was just pointing out that it is more likely that they just revise the guidelines to say ten days from receiving your docs back (as the postal application guidelines for leave to remain do) than to a...

I agree, but these aren't really the guidelines. It is pretty clear if you look at the guidance notes for various forms that all UKBA did was copy and paste the details from the same day appointment (at Croydon, etc) for obtaining residence permits into the BRP(RC) form. So when it says appointment,...

Hi, just an update, I'm still waiting for my passport (and marriage certificate) and new card and I am at 8.5 weeks since biometrics! So frustrating!!!! Also, all my correspondence has arrived addressed in my married name.

Well, that's still pretty good actually! It took 5 weeks for them to send my biometrics letter, and I am now on six weeks since biometrics and I haven't got anything back yet! :x

I have now waited four weeks since I gave my biometrics, and am just hoping that I am nearing the end of the wait! It is annoying not to be able to leave the country, but luckily in my case I don't need to (I know other people do have reasons why they need to go abroad), but it is also really annoyi...

Actually, the fact that so many people are posting here (with almost exactly the same story, i.e. five weeks between sending in and receiving biometric letter, then a long wait after biometrics) makes me think that the UKBA is just overworked/behind. I saw from the website that for many of the actua...

Have you received your new card yet? I am also waiting for a replacement BRP to reflect my new married name. I applied by post on form BRP(RC) on 2 February. I received my Biometric invitation on 14 March and enrolled my biometrics at the Post Office on the same day. Could anyone out there give an i...
