I assume the issue date is what will be printed on the passport (with the expiry date being ten years later). As I went through my local embassy, I have been told to expect a longer wait than what you would do applying in Ireland. Hopefully it should be sorted by the end of July. http://www.dfa.ie/h...

THANKS IQU & BRIGHTON JOHN EVERY EMBASSY IN THE WORLD HAS DIFFERENT WAITING PERIODS. I HAVE READ IN DIFFERENT PLACES THAT THE LONDON EMBASSY CAN TAKE UP TO 12 MONTHS. NOT THAT BAD ,ACTUALLY VERY GOOD.. THE OTTAWA EMBASSY ? WELL THATS ANOTHER STORY.. GOOD LUCK, LONDON WILL SEND IT TO YOU. Thanks...

Yes, there or abouts. Been quoted as 4-6 weeks for the passport, so should hopefully be all up and running in 2 months time!
