i sent my application on the 21st and was delivered the next day. However no money has been deducted from my account and no acknowledgement letter has been received until now. Going by the timelines mentioned in this thread this does not seem to be normal since now i don't expect anything to happen...

I would advise to Write down the ni number. They use this to check if you have used benefits with DWP. HMRC does not know how many hours you work. They only know how much tax you pay and from where.
