Re: Still waiting

For an application costing close on £1000, I do expect to be kept updated. Think how many 'applications' Amazon get each day and they can give you an up to the second update on any purchase! Poor software, poor management, inadequate staffing levels all go together to make the process a lousy 'expe...

Re: Still waiting

I called UKBA this morning and managed to get hold of someone after 15 minutes of Vivaldi on a loop. I applied on the 11-Nov-2011 and I have told that the application has not been complete but has been processed (what's the difference?) but I will have to wait. And as expected, they can't give me a...

Hi guys and girls (Note that acknowledgement letter only mentioned the processing of my visa and not that of my wife, her name was not listed anywhere on the letter) I have sent them 2 faxes, 3 letters and phoned then eight times to date only requesting acknowledgement of my wife's visa is being pr...

Re: ILR Received

I've received my ILR finally. Stamped 4 Apr 2012, received by post 2 May 2012. Note that I called on 18 Apr 2012 and was told it was still being processed, so not sure if there was a timing issue with their internal programs being updated with the actual status or not. All to best to everyone else!...

Great news for us then, Raju T. That your employer didn't mind... Marie, please don't feel discouraged, but I did get my BRP letter, it came 2 and half weeks after I sent the application. I was actually surprised it came so early. And I've been waiting for about 7 weeks now. I don't think it will n...

Re: Anxious and frustrated

It has been a long wait for me and I completely understand how you feel waiting for news on the ILR application. I sent my application on 29 Dec 2011 and am still waiting to hear from UKBA. Like some of you, I did not receive any acknowledgement letter although UKBA was really efficient at deductin...

My son-in-law applied through the settlement checking service on January 13th and hasn't got his passport/visa back yet. He has written to both the UKBA and Home Office and had no reply other than an acknowledgment. He has also written to his MP, who is also a senior cabinet minister, who got a rep...

Re: ILR application waiting time - 5 years route

You'll just have to wait, I've called them, my agent have called them, my local MP has called them and it's made no impact. Just have to be patient and wait. I once almost got crucified here on this thread when I said that we simply have to accept the waiting game and keep our cool. Thank you for s...

Re: ILR application waiting time - 5 years route

It's more than 6months, they have sent the ackd letter and payment taken for my ILR application. But no response yet, there is no way to get to them by phone call. Oh dear - I can't imagine - I'd be going crazy by now. I'm only 7 weeks and stressing like mad. Good luck - keep us posted! I've been waiting 27 weeks and have come to the conclusion that I'm not going to stress about it anymore, perhaps it will feel like it's progressing faster if I am more relaxed.

RQI your experience looks not to match with many,as I have seen in this thread that mostly get passport as their MP contact UKBA,but it looks you are also not lucky in sense of having MP who can follow UKBA regularly,if u ask your MP to ring them rather than writing,it can bring some news for you.O...

MP letters are helpful, it's not useless, all depend how good is your MP.The only way to know anything from UKBA is MP. My MP said that the UKBA is not able to give any indication of when an application will be finalised. All they can do is write a letter but I'm not convinced that the UKBA will re...

Re: ILR SET (O) Tier 1 (HSMP)

I'm deeply frustrated that I had to post my application. Glasgow PEO said they cannot assess my application as I'm with a Self Employed / Limited Company situation. They wasted my day and I lost a day's wage. Imagine IT Contractor's daily rate. Also they couldn't confirm me if any other PEO could a...

Re: Solicitor advice

RQI - yeap - that was what the legal team from my then prospective employer advised to HR... They didn't want to p!ss off the HO by getting them to call/expedite. Even now, they are reluctant after 6 months... Not sure if this is from experience or just pre-empting how HO would react to being told ...
