I managed to get an appointment at Croydon 1 day before my current permit expires, meaning I can travel worry free now. I don't know how I've been so lucky with these appointments, but I'm grateful whoever is in control of such things likes me.

The appointment system has been super good to me in the last 48 hours so I've managed to get one after my travel plans, and 1 day before my current permit expires.

My main reason for doing it is because I need to travel abroad right around the time my current permit is expiring.

Can I do an extension in person?

I am on a Spousal visa currently and having trouble getting a ILR booking that is before my current permit expires. Is there any way I can extend my current permit to allow for this? I assume I am not allowed to be in the country if my current permit is expired, regardless of wether I have a ILR app...

1st: You cannot complete the APP online - it is a screwed up link. You download the form and do it by hand. In there, there is a link to book an appointment anyway.
