If it is categorically clear that at the time you left (for the 5 months); you had clear unambiguous intentions of coming back then you are Ok.....

When you went back home for 5 months then the Clock has to restart because during that time you had no Visa for stay in the UK and also there is no proof that when you left the uk for the 5 months; you had intentions of coming back....

There was already such an amnesty in the UK in 2003/4 (if I remember correctly) for failed asylum seekers with families. All were granted ILR. The amnesty was restrictive!! I read that HO is trialling giving illegal immigrants £3,000 to head back home. What a real big JOKE!.?..that money can be era...

Guyz - as i wrote earlier; it is gonna be Impossible to reverse the rules....... the best way forward is to 'exploit' the system and benefit as much as you can... forexample if you are a Contractor charging £25/hr - then increase this to £35/hr to take account of the Injustice and inconvinience cre...

Confusing the Public

This is anothey ploy by the Spin Doctors in Lunar House...

The initiall effect will be that the number of people granted settlement /citizenship will fall drastically in the next 12 to 24 months but the numbers will pick up again after 24months....

There is no direct way to appeal against this. The only way to challenge this would be by applying for Judicial Review on administrative law grounds like Legitimate Expectations and the like. I am sure some law gurus out there can challenge this law - because i dont think the approach is legal...so...
