Well sent away for the licence on Saturday last week got back all my info I sent (passport was all i needed) and got it all back today took a grand total of a week to get back ;-)

Just got off the phone with the dvla and they said as long as i am living in the UK that it is fine to apply for the license all i have to show send is my passport and a council tax bill :D

Well i also showed them the Eea family permit and showed the area manager and explained to them exactly what a Eea family permit was and seeing as that Im a site manager they don't want to lose me.

Oh and also i included a copy of my marriage certificate and wife's passport most companies just need something for there records and if you bin bard them with documents that prove you're allowed to work they will back off :P

Yes i know about transferring the Canadian license I have never had one (no need in the small little town i lived in). I've sent them an email to confirm what you've just said "which is what i was thinking. Just to have it in writing. I'll let you know what the reply is.

I have the only question i have was based on section 7 (your declaration) of the form i states "I declare that I am resident in the UK.... blah blah blah." I'll just call the home office tomorrow and ask them and then call the dvla also.

I've been in the UK for almost a year I'll call them tomorrow see what they say and I do not think i need to get someone to sign it that has known me for 3 years seeing as I am sending them my original passport

Jambo is correct with having an eea family permit you are allowed to live and work in the UK for as long as you wish even with out applying for the EEA2.
