Exactly! Yes I understand that the government has to take extra measures in the current climate to ensure that people do not enter and place an extra burden on public funds - but in reality this is not what these proposals are about. The proposed change to maintenance is way above what is required t...

Hi - I am the sponsor and I am marrying my fiance in Nicaragua on 28th July. He has passed the A1 english test (but previously failed the B1 test). I am unclear whether the new proposed rules say that B1 will be required after the 2 [5] year probationary period or just for entry. I am not clear on i...

Sorry I didn't realise you were in the UK. I agree with Bigeasy and definetly recommend the GESE. Its on the approved list (the last one on the table and you just need a pass) It is specifically for spouse visas - listening and speaking only. It is with a real human being so you can ask for things t...

My fiance took the GESE Trinity colleage A1 test so I have no knowledge of IELTS but found these on the internet. Can anyone who has taken the IELTS confirm whether these resemble the IELTS test? http://www.ielts.org/test_takers_information/test_sample.aspx http://www.examenglish.com/IELTS/IELTS_wri...

I was under the impression that if the house/flat is exclusively occupied only by the sponsor and applicant and there is no issue of overcrowding that a home report is not required.

Is that not the case?

Hi I just had to make the same decision - so I'll share my thoughts. Many people are successful without any third party help and some aren't. I think it depends on how much work you are willing to put in yourself. If you don't get clued up first for example and don't fulfill basic requirements like ...

I am getting really concerned with the number of posts with rejections on grounds like these. Especially as there is recent case law which has further clarified this area. Basically judges/ECO's should not impose their own expectations on what a married couple should and shouldnt do. One judgment sp...
