Yup, I was thinking the same I quoted the law as you guys provided on this website and tried to email them everyday as they did not reply. finally got a reply today stating that they cant provide me with any information as I am the 'Sponsor' and not the applicant so by UK privacy laws they are not ...

What's the point? UKBA have stated on their website it should take up to 12 working weeks, 60 days, but can take up to 120 days, which is near enough 6 months. You've been waiting approx 40 days.
