'FAMILY OF A SETTLED PERSON' Visa (for CHILD)

I would be most grateful for advice on certain points in making this application: 1) In the 'SPONSOR'S DETAILS' section should the Sponsor be the PARENT of the child (he is the father of the child and he lives in the UK on an FLR(M) Visa but he would not be able to meet the financial requirements) O...

Re: Visa fees and health surcharges

I accept what you say and agree I did not consider that fact.... but I would still say to have two jobs, perhaps one paying a small amount of NI to gain the pension or other benefits and the other at or below £8060 per year. Most immigrants are not even allowed to claim benefits so that just adds in...

Re: Visa fees and health surcharges

The greatest area of concern is that is charged even to those who pay taxes and, more relevantly, National Insurance. It would be fairer if it was deductible from National Insurance (NI) payments made in a year, so if you pay £500 NI per year then you have the £200 deducted from that but if you pay ...

Renewal of unmarried partner's visa after 30 months

When I apply to extend an unmarried partner's visa after 30 months (for another 30 months to make a total of 5 years before I am able to apply for ILR) and apply by post, will any time taken to process the new visa add to the 5 year total? For example, if the 1st visa was issued on 01/03/2013 and th...

Time out of the UK

I have an FLR(M) issued 1st March 2013 (so is 20 months through the necessary 60 months period before applying for ILR); the FLR(M) is based on a 2 year period Oct 2010 to Oct 2012 living with my UK citizen partner. Both of us are considering moving to live in my own country (Asia) but my partner ha...

Bringing my son to join me in the UK

I have a 9 year old son, presently living in the Philippines. Is there any way I can apply to bring him here directly to the UK immigration authorities in the UK (so I can control the process), or does he have to apply from The Philippines?

HOW DO I GET EEA STATUS (I am a UK citizen)?

I am a UK citizen by birth and I am totally fed up with onerous Visa requirements for bringing a non-EU partner and her child into the UK and I want to have the same rights as EEA citizens (which I SHOULD have in MY OWN country!). So is it as simple as residing in another EU country for a period of ...

Thanks

But why do they not use recorded? They get enough in the fees they charge.
It is like the tax authorities .... if we do not prove we have sent then we are in trouble ... but if we cannot prove they did not send then we (again) are in trouble.
Life is not fair but government should not make it worse.

How do we know if an unrecorded letter was sent by UKBA?

On an FLR(M) application made a while ago it states that no enquiries can be made as to the progress of the application. So, if UKBA sends any communication and it is lost in the post then I would never know ... until such time as they refuse the application because I did not respond to their letter...

Thanks for the help. I had my Biometrics done about a year ago for my Tier 4; don't they use the same ones? My son presently lives with his paternal grandparents as his father has left; although he is still in the Philippines and does keep in touch with his son sometimes by phone. My son's grandpare...

Could Dependant's Visa mess up my Unmarried Partner's Visa?

I intend to apply for an Unmarried Partner's Visa (UPV) and am sure that all requirements are fully covered. I also wish to bring my son into the UK as a dependent and assumed I would apply for his Visa at the same time (on my application form) but I have been told that if he is refused then my UPV ...

Thanks for all the good advice here ... this is what solicitors want to charge hundreds of pounds to tell me. Would the fact that I also wish to bring my son into the UK as a dependent affect this matter? It seems that I should apply for him at the same time as for my own Visa but is it true that if...

I have heard of people who have been permitted entry to visit family in the past but now are being refused. I think it is just that the right-wing government we have in power is interested only in getting its wealthy chums in, so they can holiday on their yachts. They are not interested in the 'ordi...

Gap between Tier 4 and Unmarried partner's (or other visa)

I want to obtain an Unmarried partner's visa but my Tier 4 visa expires 6 weeks before I have been living with my UK citizen partner for the required 2 year period. It seems this means that I will have to find a new course of study and enrol on it for 6 weeks maximum (actually probably only 2 weeks ...

Strict immigration stopping genuine couples being together.

I think you should also expose the fact that whilst UK citizens have to obtain a Visa to allow their foreign spouse to remain in the UK, a EU citizen (excluding UK citizens!) does not. So, UK citizens are at a big disadvantage in their own country!
