Re: India X-Visa with Work Authorization

Is it possible to apply for OCI from UK and travel to India on a Tourist Visa? Can I authorize someone in the UK to collect my OCI and deliver it to me securely in India? This would give me time to settle down in India (find accommodation etc), and start the work as soon as I have my OCI delivered t...

Re: ILR for Tier 2 General Dependant (not completed 5 years)

To be precise, when I say direct, I mean could we apply for ILR without having to apply for Tier 2 General extension? If I apply for my wife's ILR in October 2020 under a priority service category, can it be guaranteed that she will obtain ILR before 6th December (esp with the current delays in the ...

Re: ILR for Tier 2 General Dependant (not completed 5 years)

Apologies, want to double-check why #2 was mentioned as irrelevant for me...? Does it mean that myself and our kids do not need to apply for Tier 2 Dependent visa extension for up to 3 years? Can I and my kids can directly apply for ILR between the dates mentioned? All our visas expires in December ...

Re: ILR for Tier 2 General Dependant (not completed 5 years)

Is #2 possible at all ? (i.e. My wife is on ILR and we apply for Tier 2 dependant extension? As I would have almost finished 5 years on the current visa, what is the minimum period I can extend the visa up to? As per the link below, the fee seems to be same regardless of the period the extension is ...

Re: ILR for Tier 2 General Dependant (not completed 5 years)

Thank you for such prompt replies. So if I understand correctly, the sequence of events would be: 1. My wife applies for ILR in Oct 2021. 2. My two kids and I must apply for Tier 2 dependant extension (what is the earliest we can do this? can this be a short term extension for a few months rather th...

ILR for Tier 2 General Dependant (not completed 5 years)

What is the fastest and cost effective route to UK citizenship for me? My wife and kids would want to retain their Indian passports until some time in the future, and may/ may not go for UK citizenship. We are all Indian passport holders with below UK visas: 1. My visa: Visa start date: 03/01/2017; ...

Re: Has anyone received processed applications from VFS after services resumed following the coronavirus lockdown?

Anyone applied from Hyderabad or Chennai!? I have applied from Hyderabad on July 10th for a Visa Vignette Extension. We did not get the passport back yet! Any idea regarding the timelines for these centres? I tried calling the UK embassy in Chennai but the offices look to be closed on normal working...

Re: COVID-19 Vignette Expiry

Yes, vignettes are being issued. I have explained the process in one of my posts recently. In summary, You need not reapply, just book an appointment with VFS Global, carry evidence of your earlier application for the visa and proof of correspondence with CIH along with your passport and appointment...

Re: Last Entry Date on Visa Vignette Expiring due to COVID-19

Did you fill in any application online/paper? If its a vignette extension due to CoVID, no need for a new application. Just carry a print of your old application form/ alternatively if you had filled the form on paper before, it may suffice for you to carry the GWF reference number/ acknowledgement ...

Re: Options for BRP collection if Corona virus related lockdown comes into effect

This is the email I got from Gov.UK Immigration services. This is a paid service and you can pay £5 and write a n email to get a reply. You can use the below link to initiate a vignette extension. I needed a vignette extension and not a vignette transfer, but the application process is the same for ...

Travel outside UK after visa decison is received

Hello Moderators, My situation is this: I have an existing Tier 2 dependant visa that is valid until 29-Nov-2019. Day before yesterday, I applied for a visa extension along with my wife (who is the main applicant). Today, I got an email from Home Office stating: "Your application under Tier-2 G...

Re: Tier 2 General Dependent to Tier 2 General Main

So if I understand correctly, I need not apply for a visa extension and wait for my employer initiated process to complete. While my wife's visa is getting extended, that will not have any bearing on my visa. I assume the same holds true for my daughter's visa which is also dependent on my wife's. I...

Thank you very much. It is said on the website (https://www.gov.uk/visa-processing-times) that For PBS Tier 2 Most applications are processed within 15 days. Tier 2 General Dependent to Tier 2 General Main

Hi All, I am on a Tier 2 General Dependent visa which is up to 29 Nov 2019 (issued in Jan 2017). My spouse (who is the Tier 2 General Main visa holder) has her visa up to 29 Nov 2019 as well (issued for 3 years). We have both been working in the UK since 2012 (initially I was on Tier 2 ICT main and ...

Re: Rule clarification for Citizenship application for child

So my understanding is once both Parents have ILRs, and only one of the parents apply for citizenship, then the child (even though born outside UK) gets eligible to apply for British Citizenship (and one parent being less priveliged does not come into consideration)

And, once I am granted the ILR, can I apply for British Citizenship for myself and my daughter (We both are currently on dependent visas, and my wife is the main visa holder, but post ILR being granted for myself and my daughter and my wife, I think there will be no dependency as to who can apply fo...
