LE80, that was pretty risky approach wasn't it? I mean our application is quite straightforward too. We received a visa to marry (fiance visa) in October 2011, marred in the six months allotted, applied for FLR(M) on 5 April, did biometrics on 21 April. Sheesh, they already did the biometrics to le...

Hi apple2170

I filled in the form at the following link and the email address is on there. I wouldn't advise anyone to do that unless you really are prepared to cancel!

Sorry CDNgirl, in my ranting I wasn't being clear. I wasn't referring to what you said, I was referring to the fact that UKBA very frequently use it as an excuse as to why some apps are done quicker than others. They have claimed such in FOI requests and in the Parliamentary committee. It's now beco...

Daiyan - I feel your pain. I am a March applicant. Whilst I am happy for those getting their visas and not having to wait so long, it is terribly unfair. This has been such a hard 8 months and not the way that anyone would want to start their married life. I don't buy the 'complex applications' stuf...

hetcollie - I am in a similar situation but closer to the crunch time. We applied for FLRM in March and we are planning to go to Australia in December. As others have said, none of the 'tricks' like requesting documents have any effect on the processing of the application. There is no magic shortcut...

Congratulations to all those who have received their visas, especially waitwaitwait and the other early applicants. As for me, our biometrics date was March 31st, and the UKBA confirmed this morning that they haven't started processing our application yet. Wouldn't, of course, say when they might do...

Congratulations to all those receiving their visas!

Our biometrics appointment date was March 31st. It's nice to see people getting their visas but I don't know whether it's making me more hopeful or more worried!

Cancel FLR(M) and apply from outside UK

Has anyone any experience with cancelling their FLR(M) application and then applying from outside the UK? We are victims of UKBA's long waiting times. We always planned to go to Australia in December to see my partner's family, 9 months after applying for FLR(M). I know they say not to make travel p...

Thanks both but I think for the second part of the question, at best they will just say that some cases are complex and are taking longer. Since they won't define a complex case, or tell an applicant when their case is considered complex, I have no evidence on which to challenge that sort of answer,...

How in the world are applications in June getting approved before those submitted in Feb, Mar, Apr, and May? What is the miracle queue jumping magic going on? I was wondering the same myself. http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/flrm_applications#incoming-318946 I don't think I asked the quesiton ...

Backagain, thank you for your very useful post. It's quite comforting that none of the attempted queue-jump methods (writing to MP, requesting documents) really work. For the record, I (sponsor) requested my passport back as I was applying for a job that wouldn't accept anything else as ID. I got my...

Re: Received biometrics letter

So if I was to play the estimation game, would it be fair to say that once UKBA receives the biometrics information, your application could end up in one of two buckets. Bucket 1) UKBA thinks your application is straight forward and your visa is granted in roughly 45 days (from biometrics) Bucket 2...

Hi everyone Just thought I'd share my own timeline. I posted it back in May, but we've still heard nothing. As someone else said, it's pretty depressing coming here! But it's nice to know we are not the only ones stuck in this situation. Docs sent: 10th March 2012 Acknowledgement letter: 16th March ...

Hi all, I and my wife submitted her application for spouse visa since 26th of april and we have not received any acknowledgement letter and the money for the application fee is still intact what could be happening pls?. I just hope my bank allowed them deduct the fees of £561 because I am more than...

Hi everyone Thought it would be useful to give the following info. The other half called the return of documents helpline this morning. They confirmed that requesting the return of documents before the application is determined is treated as a withdrawal. They also said that 65% of applications for ...

Hi everyone Thanks so much for posting your timelines and stories, although I'm not sure if they're making me feel better or worse. My Aussie partner is planning to travel to Europe with her mum on May 23rd (she hasn't seen her for 2 years.) But we're waiting for the visa.. we were hoping to send th...
