Re: How to bring Non-EEA parents to come and live in the UK?

Seriously, so there is a risk they will be unable to visit the UK ever again?

Re: How to bring Non-EEA parents to come and live in the UK?

Sigh... So in that case we would have to prove they don't have intention to settle any longer?

Re: How to bring Non-EEA parents to come and live in the UK?

Would a failure to get EEA FP for them severely impede their future chances to get 6 months regular visitor visa (they already received 2 of this in the past without any problems)?

Re: How to bring Non-EEA parents to come and live in the UK?

Just final question: Assuming the EEA FP route fails - are there any alternative ways?

Re: How to bring Non-EEA parents to come and live in the UK?

Are you aware of a post on this forum or on the internet describing the procedure the successful applicant took, i.e. how to show proof of dependency and what the HO accepted as dependency?

Re: How to bring Non-EEA parents to come and live in the UK?

The crucial test is that of dependency. Parents (and parents-in-law) are only considered direct family members of the EEA citizen if they are dependent on the EEA citizen or their spouse. Nought else matters. If you can prove dependency, they have a right under EU law to join you. How does your wif...

Re: How to bring Non-EEA parents to come and live in the UK?

Right, so I guess, if we can provide proof that the funds we support them with provides the majority of their income, should that satisfy the dependency criteria?

Re: How to bring Non-EEA parents to come and live in the UK?

My wife is their only child and she sends them money every month to support them financially, they are both retired and live in their own home. I've heard stories that if you apply for the EEA FP in most cases it gets rejected and then later the UKBA will refuse to issue the standard 6 months visito...

EEA Residence Card - re-entry without partner?

Hi

My wife will need to go back to her home country outside the EU for a period and she will travel and return alone.

She has a EEA Residence card. Can she enter the UK with this by herself? Thanks

Today we received EEA1 and EEA2, dated 17 November. Can finally relax. Special thanks to Directive/2004/EC for advice! FYI: My wife's EEA FP "expired" on 22nd December so I sent three letters to UKBA requesting the RC to be issued before we would travel to Norway for Christmas. I won't kn...

On the 19th of October, I sent an email to ots@udi.no which is The Information service. See link (http://www.udi.no/Norwegian-Directorate-of-Immigration/Contact-UDI/) I explained the situation but they did not give me a proper answer. I persisted and they forwarded my email to the department respons...

I (my wife) have same problem with Norwegian Embassy in London. Seems they only accept RC or valid sticker (EEA FP) in passport. Have been in contact with European Commission who say they are wrong. Have also contacted Solvit UK and sent letter to UKBA for RC to be issued asap or asking for official...

Since we will only visit Norway for a limited time period I do not know how relevant this will be, e.g. we will not move to live there. Anyway, my main issue is the Norwegian Embassy's reluctance to issue a Schengen visa with a return date after the expiry of the EEA. They claim the right to return ...

Directive/2004/38/EC wrote:From a legal perspective I think it is clear that she will not be overstaying. For her the Schengen visa acts only as an entry visa. Her length of stay allowed depends only on you being there with her.
Can you please elaborate on this matter?
