Re: Tier 1 General Ext only until 2014

I think the closing dates they are suggesting are fair. Very few will be caught out. We entered late (9 months after our visa was one of the last granted, back in nov 2010) and should be able to get ILR. I appreciate their fairness. 2014 would have been a disaster for many. Fair?? UKBA is never fai...

Help - starting a new company

I hope this not irrelevant topic here. And strongly believe members here specially working as self-employee will guide me better than any professional. I am working as employee, but recently got interested to register a company of my own. I know where to start i.e. Company House website: companiesho...

Re: On T1 Gen moving to US

I would personally suggest you to decline this offer of moving to US. Why? - this will break your continuity in UK and create complications to go for ILR - theoretically, you can keep on extending tier-1 even based on overseas salary, but who knows what UKBA may come up regarding change in rules/pol...

Re: Settlement SET O form Section 5 Question Page 11 - Urgen

i am not an expert, still long way to ILR, so just a couple of suggestions.
Either
1) select A & C
OR
2) select e) other? Give details below., fill detail sections explaining the situation

for both of above options - give details in section 5.2

Tier-2 Extn delayed - HELP (going for SAR)

Hi all I have friend employed with reputed company, brought here through Tier-2, 3 yrs back. On October he and his family applied for visa, for which there still no answer. There is a complication though in Criminality section, which is: assault charge , sentence -admonition, not Guilty. This was do...

Guys, just a quick question. Is this interview call applicable to only those showing earnings from self-employment? How is interview effecting someone going for same day appointment? This interview is for everyone who applied after 6 September 2013. I had my interview on 7th November and still wait...

I think you just need to carry a Employer letter confirming the signed & stamped payslips to be authorized. Tryrequest your company for same. In my experience many UK companies don't carry official stamps, thus might be change of policy guidance? in case you are going for same-day PEO do ask cla...

I assume this is for a PBS based application. See Indefinite leave to remain – calculating continuous period in UK . Yes, but the information there is misleading. It doesn't give definitive answer to my question: Going outside the UK for few weeks between jobs can break the continuity? few weeks or...

The new Immigration Bill is sinister and nasty . OK new immigration is nasty but not all. The only bill i do support is asking landlord to check the immigration status of the new tenant. This is common in many parts of the world. I lived in Saudi Arabia for many years and it was normal in there. Go...

I agree with samira_uk on being burdened by immigration in terms of constant fee increase, more stringent r...

hopefully its fine, still this is tricky, as UKBA guideline just say 'official stamp'. In my experience rarely any company carries 'stamp'.
Alternatively try get a letter of authorization

If I am not wrong, Self-employed applicants were already under strict scrutiny, so much so that the decision is not done on same day for them, and automatically moved to postal route?
anyways, sorry to know about current applicants here have to bear the brunt of time delay and suspension of decision.

Hmm. Our advisor's view was that in his experience second extensions are always 2 years. But there are clearly people on this forum who have got 3 year second extensions, so it's confusing. Whatever, this appears to be a concerning development. It should no longer be confusing topic, as params0073 ...
