My understanding was that you have to have been in one of the jobs for at least six months. The other, there is no minimum time limit apart from what is mathematically needed to get you to the limit. The wording of this category is that you need to show you have made the required amount during the l...

It's a really, really tough situation for a lot of people and I feel for you. Unless you are in receipt of certain benefits mostly related to having a disability or caring for someone who has one, there is no way around the financial requirement - until if/when it is scrapped or revised. Of course o...

To clarify, I know this has been asked before (by me no less) and the answer was that this only affected ILR - but having read some posts on UKExpat board this morning I was wondering if the situation has changed.

Required Language level going up to B1 from October 2013

Can anyone confirm if this is just for ILR, or if spouse visas will also be affected?

Family visit visa affecting spouse visa..?

Is it true that if somebody has been issued a family visit visa (let's assume it's to visit their spouse, I know those are rarely granted but..) they can't apply for the spouse visa until those six months are up? Or could they apply after less time, provided they had actually left the UK, even if th...

More oral evidence being given tomorrow. How quickly after the last evidence session was it all uploaded on the inquiry website? As this is the last evidence-giving session (I think) they may in their closing remarks give an idea of how bright the outlook is for convincing the government to change.

Re: European Union for British Citizens - really???

3. An Irish colleague said that in Ireland, they would almost always hire an Irish over a brit, because the Irish economy is bad and people are leaving (and coming to the UK and taking scarce jobs here!)because of lack of jobs, so if there was any work, it would go to an Irish citizen. This was dis...

Getting PPS number while living in a hostel

Does anyone know which hostels that will help you do this, and how long of a booking they require from you? Is proof of hostel booking also sufficient for 'proof the EU citizen is lawfully in Ireland' when applying for join spouse visa for your non-EEA spouse? Thanks to anyone who has experience in ...

It's the same for British citizens (unless they are from NI) as for other EU citizens.

The '3 years' thing you've heard of is if they are married to an Irish citizen, I believe. And that may well have changed now anyway.

Not my area of expertise, but I doubt they will consider it. Its ridiculous if they don't. My tax free salary of £16416 is equivalent to a taxable salary of £21127.39 which is well above the £18600 minimum. I feel that this would be just another way that the UKBA is trying to ruin peoples lives. Yo...

Travelling WITH your spouse who has 'join spouse' visa

Since the relevant embassies seem to take weeks rather than days to reply, I thought I'd ask this here: Does anyone know if it's legally possible for a non-EEA spouse with a visa to come to Ireland issued under 'join spouse' category to actually travel with the spouse, when they enter Ireland for t...

I heard something about a court hearing in March and then some kind of review into the affect of the rule in April. MRN (Migrants Rights Network) site had information on this if I remember correctly, maybe you can dig it out.

TBH I wouldn't bank on immediate change.

Seems like you're talking about returning to the UK under the Surinder Singh route. This isn't turning up at the border without a visa, this is turning up at the border with an EEA Family Permit. I think the confusion seems to have arisen from the fact you didn't mention in your OP that you will be ...

They responded, to their credit, after just six hours - but only to tell me they couldn't answer my questions about the validity length of EUTR visas because these were visa questions, not questions about EU Treaty Rights :?

EU treaty rights section

How long do they typically take to respond to email enquiries in everyone's experience?

I mean general prior-to-application enquiries, not related to an open application.

Cheers.
