Re: English requirements for spouse visa

Thanks Samispousal The problem with getting marriage certificate in India is that it takes a long time. I did a mistake of not inviting a marriage Registrar in my wedding function. Now whenever I speak to any lawyer in India, they say that it will take 2-3 months to get it and then further 2-3 month...

Re: English requirements for spouse visa

Thanks Guys. I am in talks with NARIC once again. They just do the Bachelor for English assessment plus need a degree certificate with transcripts. My wife doesn't have a BSc degree certificate, as she never took from the college.

Re: English requirements for spouse visa

Many thanks for reply Rayking. I was aware of the NARIC approval, but the problem in that is that they will just tell if the degree is comparable with UK Bachelor's level or not. They wont tell if it is equivalent to level A1 of CEFR (which is the minimum requirement and a much easier test) You are ...

What UK visa for a visiting Research scholar

I am on an Indefinite leave in the UK and I have already applied for my citizenship. I just got married in November and brought my wife to the UK for a short holiday. She came on a tourist visa (expiring in March 2014) and I purposely did not apply for a Dependent’s visa as she will need to go back ...

Exact 12 months after ILR?

I got my ILR on 4th January 2013 and hence I become eligible for British Citizenship on or after 4 January 2014. I am going to be off on 2 weeks holiday from 3rd January 2014. Therefore, I have booked an appointment with NCS for 2nd January 2014. As a result of this, the Home office will get my appl...

NOC

I'm sorry, but I'm not sure what a NOC is. Could you clarify? NOC is a no-objection certificate from the employer or the educational institute stating that the organisation does not have any objection if their employee/student travels to country X and we have granted him leaves for Y number of days...

Schegen visa

Thanks very much EUsmileWEallsmile I have a follow-up question if you dont mind. My fiancee already took a NOC letter from her university for UK Visa. Do you know if I should apply for the Visitor visa under 'Family visitor' category? We have been in relationship for last 6 months only though but our marriage has already been fixed.

Thanks very much for your reply CASA. I agree with you that it doesnt make sense to go through all the hassles of application for spouse visa if she is not intending to stay here anyway. The other thing I wanted to check was that should I apply the Tourist visa after marriage only (November) or can ...

Arya Samaj wedding in India

Does anyone know if the 'Arya Samaj wedding' in India is acceptable by the Visa authorities? I am going to apply for settlement Visa for my wife (I am on ILR). Re: Court marriage

Yes, get the court marriage notice asap. No worries on advice, I've just told you my experience. I've heard many people do as you wish so that your wife comes with you post customary wedding. I didnt have a choice on that way because I met my wife when I went to India and got married - so could onl...

Re - Marriage in India

Thanks very much Chili. Again, a very impressive reply! Yes, I should now get the court marriage sorted out soon (in May probably). I will apply for a date in court in coming few days. So you reckon that it is still ok to tell the Visa officials that we are still going to do the customary marriage a...
