Joy - you should get an acknowledgement letter in the post after submitting your application and then after that a biometrics letter. The email about the cancellation of your lost BRP is separate. They seem to make the fee charge within a couple of days of sending the ackowledgement letter and it se...

I'm glad you finally got your documents back, DJMC! But that is appalling service from the UKBA.

I did biometrics two months ago and still nothing. Has anyone received their BRP after doing biometrics in the past two months?

LeavingNice, what did you complain about? Your timeline is very fast.

In response to a complaint, I was told that applications are processed in order after biometrics. That doesn't seem to be the case, though. The time it takes them to send the biometrics letter seems out of order, too.

Now I feel sick... Did they specify whether that is 6 months after the biometrics (as opposed to the application date)?

I am losing patience again. Has anyone had any success through their MP or the complaints process?

The documents come back through Royal Mail recorded signed for delivery and the card comes through DX.

JulieB - It seems like there should be a way for you to contact them and let them know, but the complaints email address and going through an MP are the only ways I've gotten any response.

That just happened so I don't have anything back yet. It sounds like people have gotten everything back 2 weeks to 3 months after biometrics, so it's hard to tell how long it will take. I've already missed a bunch of trips and have another coming up, too. I hope you get yours in time!

Has anyone who applied at the end of May received a biometrics letter yet? I do not see how a two month wait for a letter can be considered reasonable. And then it sounds like, best case, it takes another two months to get everything back after that.

I got mine in just under 2 working days (but had to wait the weekend, too). I hope you get yours soon. I don't know how long it has taken for others.

Have you had your biometrics taken yet? I was told it would take a minimum of 48 hours after that (excluding weekends).

I haven't of course, but I did receive a letter replying to my complaint and all it really says is that the delay in processing was due to the large number of applicants applying when I did (end of May). Pretty useless.

Did you find a reasonably priced service? The ones I saw were several hundred. Again, the process makes no sense when the embassy/UKBA already read my police report to approve my single-entry visa. You would think having the single-entry visa application approved (which also requires fingerprinting,...

These experiences are all crazy. And even more crazy when you consider a new application can be done same day.

For anyone that included a non-English police report, did you include a translation and do you know what counts as a reliable translation?

So mine was returned after 5+ weeks for payment problems (I only knew it was being returned because I had a missed recorded delivery notice). I reapplied the same day and am now waiting again. JulieB, how did they know you were nearing the three month deadline? In my case, they returned the applicat...

I am now pretty sure mine has been returned for payment problems. I thought they were supposed to call or write now instead of returning an application if the payment does not go through? This is ridiculous. I can now add on five weeks to the already absurdly slow application process. How could it t...

And they would give you no indication as to when that might happen? That is absurdly slow. Maybe your MP can do something. The complaints process seems to be too long to do anything.

Yes. The first time they just confirmed that my application was received. I am going to write again to see what they can do about the biometric letter.

I submitted my application 4 weeks ago and have only received the acknowledgment letter. I am not sure why they send out acknowledgment letters that say we'll hear further within 10 business days when we won't. And why do they have in person applications for leave to remain and not to replace a card...

As an update, I received an acknowledgment letter after about 3 weeks, but it has now been about a week since the date on that letter and my account has still not be debited. I assume that means they have not even started on whatever they need to start on to send out the biometrics letter. Has anyon...
