Actually the ECO's were alraedy prepared for these circumstances. They do ask if you dont have the neccessary documentation like, proof of appropriate residence and funds etc. And ofcourse they dont even ask if you already have and obviously show them. Dont be confused Rex, you may find almost every kind of case here on this board. This matter has been discussed last year. There will be no problem on your existing visa. It will remain the same. New HSMP visa will be different in nature and appearance as well. Just for your further satisfaction.......

If the matter is clearly for one month then even 2k will be ok but, if you dont have any solid proof to maintain yourself after a month then its not.
Solid proof means: job offer, accomodation arrangements etc.
