Re: Applying for citizenship as a spouse of a British person

Thanks for posting this. Can I just add one question please? CASA- This means that after completing 2 years Probationary period, the spouse can apply for an ILR. After 12 months from the ILR grant date, the spouse can apply for British Citizenship (since that means completion of 3 years in the UK? A...

Hi Nazeer, Firstly, are you going for a postal application or in person? I agree that postal will be cheaper but I wud still like you to consider the premium service which I understand is expensive. the advantage of premium service is that if the case worker has any issues at all then he can always ...

FLR M at Croydon PEO but FLR O at Solihull PEO

I encountered this issue so wanted to share this with evryone. My wife already had her UK residency (dependant of Tier 1) from April 2012 (so pre July 2012 rules apply). I changed my status to ILR in Aug 12. For my wife I filled up the FLR M form which was accepted by the Croydon PEO. However, one o...

Success story at PEO Croydon- SET (O) + FLR (M)

I got my ILR on 30 Aug 2012. It went all smooth and fine at the PEO. Had my appointment at 10:20 AM so was there 30 min early. Went through the security check and joined a small queue where my form was quickly checked. I still dont think this initial check adds any value at all. Was then directed to...

I exactly know which question you are talking about. The questions are framed in a way that it cerates confusion. At the bottom of that page after that BIG OR you will see that probably the second box is applicable for you which indicates that she will be applying in order to extend her stay in the ...

You do not need to fill 7A since for ur wife OLD rules apply. However, u need to show maintenance funds for 3 months. Make this very very clear in your cover letter to the Home Office. It sounds like ur wife is already in the UK, right? If yes, then she must be on a dependent visa? So with regards t...

Hi, That is a horrible experience. Let me get a few things straight first. 1. You applied for ILR via SET (O) form, right? 2. Your marriage is < 2 years and hence you have opted for FLR (M), right? If you are saying YES to the above questions, then I am worried about the caseworkers advise. The link...
