Referee for Naturalization Application

Dear Experts,

I am in the middle of filling up my Naturalization Application. Could I ask my lecturer from my university as a second Referee ? I did MBA about 3 years ago and my lecturer know me since 2010.

Thanks I have two more questions:

1- Is there any bank statement required with a specific amount showed in it ?

2- What is the processing time these days ? Let's suppose if I apply on 1st April and everything is correct when can I expect the decision of my application ?
