Re: Family visitor visa refused

By the way, has anyone received a message from British consulate in Istanbul that they RECEIVED the document next day AFTER they already made a decision? So, visa refused on the 2.04 but letter of receiving documents is from 3.04. How can this be right?

Family visitor visa refused

Hi guys, hope you are well. Please advice on my situation. My sister applied for a Family visitor visa and was refused. My husband is sponsoring the trip, 15 days, fully, we sent statements with more than 20K, we are both british (if that matters at all). We wrote that she is supported by her husban...

Family Visitor visa, can she apply with maiden name

Hi guys, hope someone can help me. I'm a british citizen and want to sponsor my sister's visit. She just realised that her international passport (we have two: international and national passports to use in my home country) is in her maiden surname, while everything else: the national passport, birt...

Derivaz, it's all booked now, they needed a reference number from the invitation letter I received and asked to bring it with me. The approval letter never reached me.
Good luck to you all guys

Thank you neoseal. I sent an email to the council, I think they do ceremonies every Wednesday.
As I understand, you can book with invitation letter because that is what it tells you to do, but not with approval one.

I got my citizenship invitation this morning, dated 23.09.2013.
As I understand, there was meant to be an approval letter first but it was probably lost in the post. I don't know if my email enquiring about the progress helped somehow. I hope everyone waiting gets some news soon.

I wouldn't hold my breath for any kind of order. People that applied much later than us have already got their decisions. The same happened when I applied for ILR, people that came in 5 hours later than me left before with approvals and the HO workers tried to pull old "IT problems" trick ...

Hi, they don't mean say why exactly your marriage ended. In reason, write DIVORCE, plus add the date when it happened. Other reasons for ending marriage can be: annulment, death of the partner etc.

Thank you. The officer never asked any questions (about absences or anything else) when he called me to the window, he was rushing me and just took the whole folder without giving me a chance to explain what was where. I only told him that I have all the copies and he took the whole bundle away to h...

It did take them 2 hours to call me for biometrics and 2 more hours to just take my docs, the decision itself was made in another hour. I knew that they could claim some IT issues cause delays when after 5pm they started asking the remaining people if they were premium applicants or not... Then abou...

ILR (2 years marriage) granted at croydon after 5 hour wait

Just wanted to thank everybody here for helping me in the past with valuable advice and sometimes just a kind word. I got my ILR at Croydon after 5 hours wait. Just a few tips: 1. Take something to eat and drink with you, their cafe is not that good and you have to go through a security check every ...

Thank you for your replies. I cannot prove that my ex was exercising his treaty rights at the time of the divorce I'm afraid, and that was the reason why I did not apply for Retaining of the rights after the divorce. I have passed the Life in the UK test before applying for ILR. Have always worked f...
