France/belgium trip

Not sure if this is the right forum but hey ho. Wife coming over to visit me from Argentina (we will apply for spouse visa in January) and we would like to go to Paris and maybe Belgium for a few days whilst she is over here. In terms of travel for her is that OK? Or will the French/Belgium authorit...

Thank you for the clarification. They may as well not count overtime then. Who gets overtime every single month? I get a bonus every quarter as well. Seems that cant be used either. What a joke. Oh and MPH80, your help is appreciated. Though, if I were you I would cut back on the condescending tone ...

Bear in mind they will look at your salary month on month, and they will pick the lowest earning month of the previous 6 and use this to calculate your salary. They dont take an average they go off you lowest earning month so you must be consistent with the overtime. I am confused and concerned by ...

Thanks for the reply. The visa is for my spouse and her son. So FLR M I guess??? Basically under the new rules I hope to apply in January of next year Including overtime for whole of 2012 I expect my wage (before tax to be) 19700. So.....if I am sponsoring my spouse and her son I need 22400 less 197...

Financial requirement question

Under the new rules I hope to apply for my wife and child at the end of January, by which time I will have been with the same employer here in the UK for over a year. With my current salary and savings I am a little under meeting the financial requirements. However, I know that with overtime I may b...

I have to admit that most of this goes over my head, but I have made an attempt to read a few articles based on today's judgement. Is it really as simple as: The court says to the government 'you can't go making any substantial changes to the immigration rules without going through parliament and ha...

Today's ruling

Hopefully this will also cast into doubt the legality of the new family rules that came into effect on the 9th of July. One can only hope!

For many reasons I was not able to put in my application before the new rules were made law. I feel like it is the end of the road for my dream to stay in the UK but my lawyer seems confident that the new rules will be challenged and successfully overturned when they come to court. He thinks I shoul...

I get that the 2.5 equates to 30 months/2.5 years yet I thought the new length of time before you could apply for ILR was now 5 years?

Thanks. So £16,000 is the magic number regardless of how short I fall from meeting the figure of £22,400?

Calculation

1) I earn £18,900. I need to make an application for my wife and her child for which I need to be earning £22,400. What is the calculation for working out how much I need to have in savings?

2) How long must the savings be sitting in my account?

Thanks
