My spouse joined after I landed, It was not a problem. They did ask him a lot of questions at the airport but not necessarily about me or his visa.

You can ask but there is no gaurantee it will be granted, it seems to be up to the EC officer your case gets assigned to. In my case I called before and was told that it can be done if I ask, however when I actually went in the ECO told me she did not see a need for it since the visa is renewable at...

I am just returning to the forum after a few weeks absence, I don't know if I made it clear that my mother was born before my grandmother became a british citizen, and so I doubt she would be entitled to registration as a bc.

Hi I followed the advice given here and went the route of asking BT to put my name on my friend's bill, which they did and I got the updated bill in about 3 days, but when I went to HSBC, I was told that I need to be living in the UK for at least three months, and preferably be working to open a ban...

1. In what way did your mother's mother acquire British Citizenship i.e. was it by birth, registration, naturalisation or adoption in the United Kingdom. Naturalisation I believe, she was a citizen of a then british colony (the country gained independence shortly after), arrived in UK around 1958 a...

visitor's visa for mother

Hi there, My mother takes care of my child (in my home) and I pay her. I enquired of the British high Commission, if I could take her with me to the UK and they told me I could either try to do so as a Domestic worker or as a visitor. I tried as a domestic worker, but the ECO did not seem convinced ...

A job offer speeds up processing but they will only consider it after your application has been with them for a minimum time period (used to be 4 weeks, not sure how long it is now). I suppose you would have to have more than a verbal offer though, try getting it in writing. They downgrade points if...

Yes kayalami, I am really surprised to hear that considering that the HSMP guidance stated that there was no need for private medical insurance, it would be shocking to hear that HSMP persons are only entitled to limited treatment in the first year.

Hi, I can't answer your question authoratatively but I do believe that if you can prove that it is your own company then that in itself and any profits made by the company is proof of economic activity on your part since the HSMP guidance clearly states that economic activity may include self employ...

I hope to ask them to change it, but of course they may not. My pro...

I think I have read where they actually use the rates at the time that you earned the salary, that is why they ask you to provide monthly wage slips so they can convert each month seperately.

Thank you Jesus, I got my approval letter today, it was actually at the post office from the 22nd but they didn't seem to have done their filing/paperwork at the post office properly so I didn't get it till they went searching for a package for a relative of mine today and 'happened' upon my package...
