Re: ILR for 20 year old dependant chid of my spouse

They entered on a spousal visa with Leave to Remain granted 2.5 years ago. There is explicit guidance available under Tiers 1 - 5 which I highlighted and I don't see any reason why that should not apply in our case. That would mean that he should give up any work and make himself entirely dependant ...

ILR for 20 year old dependant chid of my spouse

I'd be grateful for any advice or for any similar experiences that can be shared on this. My partner will be applying for ILR on the 5 year route. Her son, who entered with her and on her visa as a dependant will be turning 21 soon. I have not been able to find any specific guidance on what constitu...

Thanks for your response. With regard to the issue of sole responsibility that is cheering. We didn't make much of an effort to show our relationship because it seemed obvious that we had shown that in the previous successful applications. I seem to have wrongly assumed that they would trust their o...

Appeals - some questions

Hello everyone, After 2 successful applications for family visitors visas over the last 2 years, my partner and her son's application for settlement were denied. I have many questions but 4 that really cause loss of sleep are the following: 1. I thought "sole responsibility" would be diffi...

@asim72 - I have to admit to being new to all this but I can see plenty of reason in what you say. However, what is wrong with preventing access to benefits and if things used to be as easy as you say, holding those sponsors to their promises? In any event there is no excuse for such sloppy drafting...

Best way in my opinion would be you arrive in UK, work for 6 months, get all the documents together and then your wife applies for spouse visa from colombia. Thanks for your opinion and agreed. It's just a matter of ensuring that the time I spend proving an income is not lost by an overly strict in...

Re: Nitty Gritty of Sponsor's Finance Calculation

I am employed on a nil-earnings contract which in effect means I only work overtime. This aspect of your employment contract is likely to introduce complexities of an adverse nature. Your immediate concern is that they will examine your contract, P60, and conclude that your income is unsubstantiate...

My understanding is they will take your minimum earning month of any of the previous 6 months and use this for your income calculation. I belive if you work for 6 months give this job up prior to applying then you may have problems as you no longer have the job your income for the previous 6 months...

Nitty Gritty of Sponsor's Finance Calculation

I am new to these forums.
