Seal and Signature , both important for India.... Pls send back to them and get it signed.
All surrender certificate has the officer's signature. . Return to VFS and they will be probably send it back to HCI for the signature

Hope you get your OCI on time. All the very best to you..!! I don't want to take the tension and i applied for VISA and got it on the 4th day (fyi). One more info... I asked for two months VISA and got VISA for 6 months but no use of SINGLE ENTRY .

It is always good to have the original documents with you as lemony said. These VFS are just a courier forwarder and they don't take any responsibility, but they behave as if they are the Council General of India. Hi there Thanks,
I will surrender my passport and go for a visa. Travel to India and once back , I will apply for OCI. I was finding ways to save some money (already a huge fortune is gone ) during the process, but no room for that without any problem.

I tried the e-visa route , but the visa issued is for 30 days only(which did not suit me)

Can I ask you an info , when did you get your Naturalization certificate ..? on the same day of ceremony or will it take some more days.

How are you applying.... by postal or through NCS..?

I had three passports. My entry visa to UK was in second passport , so the officer in the NCS office took photocopies of my second passport and thrid passport and gave back all the originals except the LIUK pass sheet.

There wont be much of problem for child under 5 born in UK.........
You may consider any NHS Doctor person of good standing in the community ,
