I do have it in writing that the visa wont be curtailed but the institution insists that i will have to re-apply as they have already informed UKBA that I graduated this year. But as I will be returning to study with them, this shouldn't be a problem..right?!

Thank you so much.
I will send the application through; fingers crossed it doesn't take more than 20days as they stated.

One question though: the passport number on the offer letter is different from the one on the ATAS as the one on the offer letter has now expired. Will this pose a problem?

Register a business on tier 1 PSW

I am looking to register as self-employed and I'm on a tier 1 psw visa. Is there any special procedures migrants need to take to register or is it the same procedures for everyone regardless?

Thanks Lucapooka. That was what I was aware of, but the institution kept inssisting that they will 'assume' that UKBA have curtailed the visa to expire in Oct 2012 as opposed to Oct 2013 (which is the initial expiry date) as that is what they (UKBA) should have done when they (my institution) inform...

ATAS Certificate

Is there any harm in applying for an ATAS certificate if you may not end up needing it? A firend of mine is going to be doing her masters in engineering and although his visa is still valid, he may need to re-apply for a new one as she is changing courses. Should she apply for the ATAS Certificate a...

Won't happen. Thanks Lucapooka. You've really cleared that up for me. You are very knowledgeable i this area, if you don't mind my asking, are you a solicitor in this field (immigration)? I really appreciate your responses. Do you know if there any special ways for immigrants register a business or...

Thanks so much for your responses Lucapooka; I know it sounds a bit silly but I just want to be 100% sure before I go ahead and register both a new business and pay the international fees to enroll in full-time education; i think my biggest fear is receiving a random phone call or letter from UKBA f...

The thing is I also want to study full-time as this will give me the knowledge i need to boost my business activities. Is this something that is possible to do; study full t...
