You probably can't. The gross amount printed is what the company applying for the WP says on the application they would be paying you. Often this is an amount that would cover the period of the WP, so if a company is applying for a 5 year permit they might put what they think the average salary will...

Your WP LTR only gets invalidated when you get HSMP FLR, and NOT when you get the approval. I checked this with the HO.

You could get an HSMP approval and never apply to switch your FLR status - no one would care as long as WP LTR is still valid.

Yes you can. As long as you make your FLR switch before the HSMP letter expires, you should be ok. I am not sure though if at the time of WP renewal the HO might see that you got an HSMP letter approval and might ask why you not going for HMSP FLR instead, but I never heard of that happening (at lea...

Updated FLR(HSMP) guidance notes, but now broken form link

Looks like HO put an updated version of the guidance notes for FLR(HSMP) dated 26 Jan. However, they screwed up the link for the actual FLR form which instead points to the HSMP application! I can't believe how flaky the HO site is. Anyhow, does anyone have a copy of the most recent version of the F...

Thanks rose, that is exactly the situation I am in. But on the current guidance notes for payment they do not say you need to provide proof of citizenship for exempt status. I.e. it sounds like you applied for HSMP and EC at the same time, but I will only make my FLR application later. I guess I sho...

Ok clever-clogs, how about in my case where I have dual nationality and will be claiming the exempt status due to one passport (which I never have to show them really) and then getting my FLR in another? Your HSMP approval letter is not linked to a particular passport, i.e. at EC/FLR stage you could...

Payment exemption - how does HO check this is true?

On the form all I have to do is tick exempt on the payment slip and complete the contact details. The guidance notes do not talk about providing any evidence whatsoever.

How does HO know that I indeed do have the nationality of one of the exempt countries?

Thanks.

Fair enough, I seem to remember a while back someone posted about postdating EC with the old HSMP scheme when they have valid reasons so was wandering if the same could apply to FLR (couldn't dig out the thread unfortunately). Ok, then another question. Say one has completed 4years and 10months on a...

Possible to request a post-dated FLR (in country switch)?

I was wondering.... If one is here on a WP that is valid for a few more years but is switching to HSMP, can they ask for their HSMP FLR to be postdated by a month or so? This would be useful in a case when someone's 5 years for ILR expires in say March '09. In order to change employer they successfu...

I guess it is up to you.

If you are confident your company can get you a WP anyway then do it. Otherwise you are in effect paying £315 to waive the advertisement requirement to increase the chances of getting the WP, so if you don't want to play around it might be a worthwhile investment.

Read the HSMP guidance notes on the HSMP website. It is salary before tax they consider but you must also prove that you did pay tax.

When does WP LTR become 'active' in 5 year rule? (switching)

Situation is as follows: - WP granted in-country May 04 (whilst finishing of studies) - Passport sent to HO (in-country) - WP Leave to Remain visa was put into the passport showing that it is valid from May 04 to May 09 . - actual employment with company only commenced end of July 04 . They are a bi...

New HSMP extension and change of profession while in UK

Interesting point. It seems to me that with the new system the HO does not care what you do as long as you have enough salary points. For example, one could seek initial HSMP approval as a highly paid biochemist and then seek extension as a highly paid fashion designer (as unlikely as that is). This...

Unmarried partner and 4 year direct ILR

Hi, According to HO docs, if you can prove a 4 year stay with unmarried partner outside the UK you can get ILR straight away. Why does the same not apply to inside the UK (or does it?)? For example, if one is with their partner for 4+ years in the UK legally, why can they not apply for ILR? It seems...

With such a long list of riches, could you not go via the investor route? 8) I doubt applying for long concession is a good idea right now. HO will definately not show mercy just because you live in the South East and earn lots of money (unless you can show them you could invest in the country). And...
