Not sure if u can do that or not, but i will suggest its easier to ask ur employer to certify that they will support u and ur wife during fist month if needed. that is easily done by checking a box while issuing the COS

The legal requirement for the employer is that you have right to work in the UK. that right comes if u are entry clearenence or an extension. hence, no effect on your job.

first thing is it is not up to 5 years that u can stay rather it is up to max of 6 years that u can stay in the uk on the combination of all tier 2 visas. If ur salary is over 35k after 5 years and before 6 years, u can apply for ILR. U can change ur sponsor, ie change the visa from tier 2 to tier 2...

you will only be able to make a switch to tier 2 if your job is on level 6.
Best way forward is to look for a job title which is on level 6 and closely matches ur job and ask the company to sponsor u for that and obviouslt the pay should be relevent as well.

Normally the licence application was tkaing up to 3 months, but currently there are many cases where sposor application turnaround is 2 weeks. There is a way around. only ur employer knows that info, and only they can login the system to see what they have entered. you will only have a number for the COS as COS does not mean any actual paper document. They cant put an old date for you since it is the date they start to sponsor your visa. Also, if you are permanent, then the date of start and date of end can be max of 3 years.. so the latter the start date, the longer you get the visa for. I have been through this personally, and i can confirm, th...

My company has an online system for the payslips. I can only print out my payslips and that too is on half a page.
I understand i have to attach a letter from the employer stating this, but can anyone advise as what should be included in the letter?

any help would be highly appreciated.

Cheers
